Just a heads up. Overclocking isn't a good idea on portable devices. You can easily burn the cpu.
There shouldnt be any legal problem. Mojang has always been very supportive of the modding community and they are going to release an official mod api for mcpe, something not even pc version has, so I don't think they are planning to kill modding anytime soon
The main problem, IMO, is that mcpe multiplayer feature isnt designed to work outside a lan. But dropped items should dissapear by default after 5 minutes when the chunk is loaded. Hostile mobs dont despawn on pe automatically but you can despawn them by turning down the difficulty to passive mode and then up again.
Bats are known for creating inmense lag swarms, you can despawn them with pocketinveditor or any other world save editor.
Are you serious? Programming a game isn't easy and the amount of work they have done on this last updates is impressive, even more for a mobile game. Also take in consideration that mcpe is still an alfa and that some of the team members that work on it work on the pc version too, which also had a massive update recently.
That sounds like some sort of desync. Basically the client "uses" the book/experience before the server realizes, so when you exit the game or leave the anvil the server still "thinks" you havent used it thus duplicating it. That's the same reason why sometimes on servers you craft something and then it dissapears or you take out something from a chest and then it goes back to it (or those damn corner shots on cs:go) but now its working in your favor.
Sadly, not the way you are running the server now.
But the hoster should be able to whitelist trusted ip's and block all others through iptables, on linux, or the advanced windows firewall... on windows.
@Corals1, - Technically overclocking within safe reason is okay, but based on what level of over clocking (cpu ram wise) is safe so long as you follow your devices guide lines, although i will give you this, not many people understand whats a a safe stable over clocking, and heat threshold thats considered safe, and how to automate under volting to optimize battery, and increase cpu efficiency. RAM "emulation" isn't unsafe it just rapidly burns out the memory of the device being used to function as the emulated ram segments, its also heavily dependent on the devices read and write speeds of the MicroSD card reader in the device, and the rated class speed of the MicroSD card slotted into said device.
Regarding your aspects of trusting microsoft, the reason i cannot trust microsoft is, its microsoft not mojang, its microsoft. Just because a company before being bought out was supportive it doesn't mean they will be for much longer when under new management, yes, current builds not PAST builds are being kept in line with the its cool to mod/enhance. Now regarding the minecraft win10, and minecraft PE edition, im not sure when they'll begin to crack down on modding, its already obvious for the fact, that minecraft win10 was designed and reworked with new TOS for that new product. As for PE its still do-able, but it requires me to give more effort in working on a wrapper build to run through bluestacks, and even to further that agenda, to build out and fix the entity lag (yes clear lag is the solution), but thats only apart of it, the other part is VPN re-routing or tunneling to make a hostable ip through blue stacks, thats annoying as crap and i dont wanna build out a entire dummy network to do such things, it also handicaps the systems available processing power and memory limitations to that which is the limits within the android build i decide to emulate through blue stacks (or the android SDK period). Mind you minecraft is just a pet project to me, im not trying to turn it into a job. Lol im making no profit off of it, and i see no reason to turn it into a profit based server, some people just want to make it freely available for a purely vanilla minecraft build (With a few enhancements through wrapper to remove bugs or enable server commands for the op)
Regarding your comment about how hard it is to code, i am a coder, i am a software engineer, and a hardware designer (or i once was), i have reverse engineered minecraft PC build, it is extremely messy how the game is coded, its in java. ITs horrible, its so horribly messy, so so horribly messy. I understand if the code is reworked and re-written in more easily understandable machine language terms (C+, C++), which is what makes minecraft win10 a fun to use build. The reason i cannot directly mod the win10 build? I'd half to circumvent security measures which is doable, but it can lead to legal repercussions on my part, i mean i suppose if i wanna test the waters and see if microsoft will crucify me or not, but you know, i dont have millions of dollars to rally behind me, perhaps people who'd rally behind the modding concept but not to aid me in the legal repercussions if any ever were to come from exploiting the security to just enable a wrapper and allow mods to run on the win10 build.
Regarding your comment about desync, this is correct, you are not wrong at all. Its related to again how minecraft PE build was not designed for online multiplayer (This is a bug that is generated after to many entities, whats deemed to many entities i dont know, because theirs times where the 4000+ entities on my old server build ran perfectly speedy at all times, other times for no reason what so ever it would hardcore hickup). Lots of it relates to the way information is processed in the chunk system, as everythings constantly being recalculated in those "chunks". People stick together less chunk data load on the server, reduce cpu cycles, and overall reducing lag, this is just the way its coded, (i forgot what the prior language minecraft pe was coded in, but i know its been migrated to C++). Ultimately from what i've personally watched, observed and gained from debug processes attached to the win10 build, is that its related to entities or objects spawning in, and the server just doesn't know what to do with them, randomly a clear out or 5min interval clear isn't always processed, this eventually begins to collect and garbage collection fails, and it just leads to a major spawn bug, this happens over prolonged periods of time (or servers going over the 250mb+ threshold for world size).
Regarding white-listing, this is much more complicated than you think, it sounds easy, but ultimately it forces me to put forth more effort to collect peoples IP's constantly, and then do more investigating when users cannot connect, forcing me into more of a support oriented situation regarding this. I cant assume everyone understands this concept. To much hassle to reiterate constantly. Ultimately though, that would be pointless because of the amount of recycling and learning about the instability and issues with minecraft PE build. Nothing against the community just requires me to put forth far more effort than i want to. Really i just want a password authentication system, but i cant build that in, not in the win10 build, i can forcefully inject such via block launcher pro, with its injector and running it on android or a emulated android console though. Just kinda really hard limits and points back to why i dont wanna try it, to much hassle, forces me to limit cpu and ram allocation.
@MasterZak - Yeah port for the vanilla server is 19132, it will never change, i haven't even figured out how to change it unless i directly modify the android APK build and then re-run it with a new port as its "Go to" Port
General notice to all, this will be also included in the updates segment in original post*
Server is down again due to incredibly high jitter, this is something i cannot decrease on my end, this is a affect on comcast, expect little to no connectivity for the next day or two, currently whats affecting the network is pretty much the weather in my area, which is messing up the network line coming in. Can't do much remotely, and direct interaction just tends to do nothing more than allow temperary few minutes of connectivity where it drops constantly. Swapping out network cables and reworking the line does nothing. On the flip side may 8th verizon fios Installation will remedy a large majority of my network issues, and the connectivity issues for you, the users. Apologies in advance, but their isn't much i can do, on the upside i reopened the ps4 server, as i think im gonna buy another one tomorrow, really depends if i can validate having more than 2 ps4s, and dedicating one to a minecraft server host like build*
Yeah new setback really got me in a uproar, server will be wonky/unstable till 5/29/2016, damn verizon protesting pushed back installation date, your best bet to determine if its online is to just hammer connection attempts and see if you connect, if not, theirs not much i can do, i pay comcast for hosting rights, but the problem is that with comcast their is a bandwidth threshold. Once i hit that the connectivity regardless of whats on the network will be severely degraded which is essentially whats happening right now. :/
Servers back up but i cannot guarantee stability on connectivity as its jitter is pretty craptastic, this is apart of my reason for moving to verizon and pretty much looking to drop comcast, you should beable to connect but if not, i can't really do much on my end regarding jitter beyond isolating devices on a separate part of the network with its own dedicated CAT5 line, and a direct 1gbps port (even though the game doesn't even come close to remotely using that much data) at all.
Looking into Realms its.. "okay", not sure if i will actually migrate to it, unless they properly implement better moderation tools, not really much is given away about what was available, when i demo'd realms back in 0.8.0 it was "okay" with limited functionality beyond white list and no white list. Thats gonna be problomatic for making a low maintenance server where i just leave it up 24/7. Anyway server should be accessable if not, i usually manually check all my servers (Game servers, media servers, backup servers, NAS), etc... at 1-2am eastern time. So it should be available around those times when i check the systems. Anywho happy crafting!
Well I've updated the main thread and update posts*
But the jist is, its the "Mystery" machine. Lmao, had serious IP and network collision. Turns out my massive hardware overhaul (upgrading routers, upgrading switches, upgrading components), had to fix some IP tables, Rework my static IPs, build out a new tunnel, and of course migrate/replicate the network on the new harder, while retaining the old hardware for a mix match setup. The results? The mystery machine. Basically the server is now mixing two separate networks, a backup network provided by comcast, and a primary network provided by comcast, and soon to be, a FiOS network provided by well verizon. On the flip side, i've been able to successfully iron out bugs on the network side, now its all about how comcast my current provider spews data at my machines and if they choke on it or not. Upgraded everything to FIBER optic though. So "Yay". Still expect it to be quirky though! It should be stable enough to be active/online though (i've been able to play for a solid 6hrs on minecraft PE, straight), as well as a few various other game servers i setup (Turns out everything was borked till i reworked the IP tables). If their are more problems please feel free to let me know what happened/went wrong ill setup a ping server so it lets you know if the servers even online, on a separate port (basically to ping if the server, IP or system is even online), this will be isolated on a separate VLAN though for those pesky hackers who try to brute force the network
Anywho happy mining, and sorry about the down time.
Servers back up! But this is now considered the "Mystery server" until the 29th when my new network line comes in, i have multiple IP(s) the server keeps rotating to every few hours, their listed below if one doesn't work try the other one (i suggest keeping both added for now) Sorry about the hassle!
Added a checkable dummy server on HFS solely to validate if server is even up/running
If you can connect to either of the dummy servers linked uptop, this means that IP is active and the PE server is ON that IP and the port associated (Meaning the 19132 port on the ip it works on) IE:
http://73.174.112.211:52285/connected via web browser, PINGing server, Or verifying if port is open (and its successful) then Minecraft PE server is on IP
If you cannot connect to server even though you were able to access dummy server (HFS) server, then let me know, chances are theirs a glitch or a crash out with the win10 app (or the world may need purged again..)
Server IP(s) is 73.236.12.35 all ports for server(s) listed below
Server IP(s) is 73.174.112.211 all ports for server(s) listed below
Server @Port 19132 is Win10 Build server Mob spawning supported (Set To Hardcore)
Lol mystery server. Anyways still cant connect...I clicked on http's not sure how to read. Looked at 'server uptime' and there's a time so idk. These are the servers in trying to connect too;
73.236.12.35:19132
73.174.112.211:19132
Don't understand y it still won't connect

I think master right and if your able to whitelist server. This is one of, if not the ONLY legit SMP server, so I think with that being said it should be a privilege to play.
Also maybe u should limit world size to medium? Could help

I hate to say it, but currently minecraft pe does not support whitelisting on the PE build, or the win10 build, only through pocketmine, or hard coded mods can i, and if i do it through the android app i cannot guarantee uptime or stability at all due to the phone, or tablet must be strong enough and capable of staying up 24/7 alongwith keeping a solid connection to the wireless network. As for the Win10 variant, i could but i need to abuse a exploit in microsoft store, this is patched but also makes the application fail checks and refuse to run. I suppose if i hack it, it could run, but this leads back to the microsoft store exploit issue, which could be legal issues i'd dare not trespass into, just not worth the grief that would come from it, legally with microsoft. Once white listing becomes available ill do so though, especially if theirs full control over Minecraft realms, which is supposedly being resurrected for the 13.0.0 build.
Yea don't blame ya. Iteams are still duplicating btw. Hopefully on 29th this is fixed. Anyways if you can solve all the bugs and what not id be more then willing to help advertise server. I don't know much at all about programming websites but I can do artwork for the server. Posted one of them I did for roommates. Let me know..
Ferranzo, remember before we couldn't connect to the server i was going to sell you all my cobble, well, when im able to connect i will still sell you all of it.
