I am trying to see what the purpose is of people coming in and destroying everything built by my 6 and 4 yr with water and fire. I just don't see the purpose except a lot of people are rude.

It seems to many people don't have anything better to do than to enter and destroy the things everyone built. I am new to minecraft and have an extra laptop laying around and wanted to create a public server where people can build and have fun. I didn't know people got so much excitement of just enter public servers and destroying everything. After much research I found that some people do enjoy destroying for fun, most of them with not much a life so to speak.
