I have a new 16x16 texture for an item but I can't get it to work. my mod can access it successfully, but then in-game the texture becomes air. How can I install the texture correctly? Im currently using the way where make a new folder, put your images in it, then edit ingame.images to access it. At first, I did not edit ingame.images, but it doesn't matter. Either way, i get the same result. I compress the whole thing then access it through blocklauncher as a texture pack. All default textures are fine.
I do not have a pack.png or a pack.mcmeta(pack.meta?) does it make a difference? What should the resolution of the pack.png be? My image is also a .jpg that i renamed into. Png, but I don't think that makes a difference.
DON`T rename .jpg to .png! (It is not pointless that this are two different file formats, .png has a Alpha channel, maybe you think image viewers can open a .jpg-file renamed to .png but for Minecraft Resource Packs it should be a "real" .png-file. Convert it correctly!)
I think (but I am not sure) that pack.png and pack.png.mcmeta is not necessary (for MCPE). The resolution of the pack.png can be any resolution.
@Chagdriff I don't do art very often, since I really suck at it.
If I provide a dropbox link would you be able to convery it for me? It doesn't work still, with the same problem, but I can't think of why. Does having a removed background (rendered as black in image viewers) make a difference too?

I have nothing to say...

Curse PremiumAfter converting the .jpg-file to .png the background should be black, you can remove the background with an image editor like this for Android:
