Hey guys, it's me, peacestorm. Today I'm back with a ModPE help thread.
You can ask me any question you want, the only rule is that it has something to do with ModPE Modding. ;-)
var mcpeVersion = ModPE.getMinecraftVersion();
var targetMCPEVersion = "0.12.3"; //any target version you want
function newLevel() {
if(mcpeVersion != targetMCPEVersion) {
clientMessage(ChatColor.RED + "Warning! Example Mod may not be compatible with your MCPE version.");
}
}
function chatHook(text) {
var commandText = text.split(" ");
if(commandText[0] == ".example") {
preventDefault();
clientMessage("You used the .example command!");
}
}
Need another example? Ask me anything on this thread, and I will make a tutorial for you.
More examples and tutorials are available on my ModPE Wiki.
How do you make mobs drop original loot when you use function set health to 0
You can't just let mobs drop what they would have dropped if they were killed normally. The only way to make mobs drop something is by using the Level.dropItem(); function.
I've added a custom commands without a slash example. It allows you to make commands starting with any symbol you like. In this example I am using a dot instead of a slash. Enjoy!
Ive been trying to get custom textures in my mcpe mod but i cant get it to work., ill give you the script im using
ModPE.overrideTexture("images/items-opaque.png", "my drop box link to items_opaque");
ModPE.setItem(369, "blaze_rod", 0, "Blood Rod");
Btw the blaze rod is the item i edited and i made it red!
Ok and if you say to make a var thing, dont. I tried and it doesnt make a difference
2. Its in the wrong order? the other way brings up an error msg in block launcher (same with the var)
Plz help!
Hey, what you're trying to do is to override (redefine) the whole item. To change the texture only, it would be better to make a texture pack or to not use the ModPE.setItem() method in this case.

Don't use ChatColor.RED, ive heard it might not work on things other than bl. Instead use the §symbol and it's color codes

I add a Sword. How can I take damage?
Sorry for my English
You could use the following code:
Remember that it does the default damage plus the damage you add. If you want it to do a random attack damage, ask me.

ModPE.overrideTexture(par1String, par2String);
This might work, but i think this is one of the newer functions and I'm not sure how exactly it works.
I have nothing to say...
This function already exists for at least 1 1/2 years.
Ehhh well i never really bothered to look at it and Connors github doesn't have it (or maybe i just didn't notice it)
I have nothing to say...
