I wanted to know if it is possible with ModPE Javascript to light up the area around a player by holding an item, or, if that is not possible, if it is possible in another way.
Well there is not a designated function, but you could define a custom block with a large light level and have it be placed directly above the players head wherever they walk. It will also need to be removed and the texture needs to be entirely transparent.
This should make a neat work-around!
