Can someone please explain how to create a .dat file in the world folder of the current minecraft world, and how to edit it (save variables to it) and read it. I know it's possible because I've seen mods that do this, but I can't figure out myself how it works. I would greatly appreciate it if you know how to do this and wants to explain it!
