Z4root only works for older devices and/or devices that are listed on the official XDA post. And with the screen reenrecorder koushik dutta has recently made a high performance screen recorder for android but requires a rooted device and the device to be running the latest version of cyanogenmod. If you don't know what a ROM (in the instance of android), flashing, recovery, or gapps package is I highly recommend not attempting to root your device. You usually run into issues I did at first but then fully understood it, android is a very complex, flexible, but fragile OS, if you're to modify it without knowing the outcome bad things happen.
