Okay so I have been poking around lately while I was waiting for the 8.0 update. Those of you who have played on my worlds pre 8.0 know what I was up to O.O

Anyway, I start seeing all these new mods and stuff and start poking around. Lo and behold, Block launcher handles scripts now. To those who know me it was a 0_______0 Moment. In fact, several of you met some of my favorite friends!


Anyway, I was suddenly overcome with a desire to learn to mod. Now, I SUCK at computer type stuff but a friend assured me that writing script was child's play. So after several protests, I walk over to roleplay Treebl's thread and stared.

For about an hour.

I stared so long that the crickets chirping had grandkids and survived a great flood.


I have no bloody idea what any of that crap on that thread meant but I still wish to learn how to mod. I'm wanting to make a Jail Stick mod that teleports a player to a set location when you hit them with it. For starters anyway. I've got hundreds of ideas and am looking for the Yoda of scripters to teach me.

And yes, I'm an android user til the day I die!!! O.O

PM me and I'll teach u. The jail mod is simple and ill show u. :)And BTW. YOU DO NOT need to learn JS syntax to mod u'll pick it up as you go.

It is easier to learn the .js syntax. But yea. You don't necessarily need to learn it. I could teach you from scratch. It is true, the Jail mod is pretty simple. I have plenty of ways to communicate, skpe, pm's, and Kik or voxer. But you can learn from any modder you choose.

My Mods are pretty short and sweet so i don't have that much to do. Pretty bored sometimes. So yea.

And btw. Y can learn from a bunch of modders, that's what I did. A good way to starts by beta testing.

A good way to learn is to download other people's mods, edit them, and try running them If they work, keep changing more and more until you've wither broken it, or made it a new mod. Then, you should've gathered a bunch of random knowledge to write your own. If not, you could always ask me. Hope this helps!

whaaaa!! sorry! i *AHEM* misplaced my login data. I changed my pw a while back and keep getting annoyed when the old one doesnt work. And i think my approach will be like you suggested, start with mcpe while learning so i have something to practice on, then slowly build my base.


And yeah, I cant always get on. I used to live on here building my gauntlet world but lately life had been kicking my little behind. Sorry for the delay. My kik is Tsuminomai (YES i know..... it was used in bleach. So not why i chose it.) and i would be happy to learn. Honestly i thought finding a teacher would be the hardest part, not picking one and Im glad to have so many offers.

oh thanks! I was looking at the mod thread i mentioned above and ive been looking over the mod. It seems to have a bit of a pattern to it so i think that if i just knew what the involved variables meant, then I wouldnt really have a hard time with it. However, this may just be blind optimism.
