yes it would shoot flames and set people on fire!!lol
I don't know how it will be done.But I think it's possible because they created a redstone PLUGIN which has pistons, wire and levers.I think it can be done but we need a pretty good plugin creator.

shot gun: axe
assault rifle: pickaxe
pistol: hoe
flint& steel: flamethrower
stick : rocket launcher
sniper rifle : bow
