I didn't realize until the warrantee was expired that the KFHD can't use google play. Thus, all texture pack and modding tools that can bypass the 'amazon-bought' Minecraft issues which prevent me from applying said texture packs/mods are out of my reach. Is there a way to download the .apk file without going through google play? All third-party sites I've looked into work through it. Not sure if it's relevant, but my tablet's not cracked. Not even sure what it means, much less how to do it.

No, your not out of luck- I have a Kindle Fire as well and I got a way to have mods and texture packs. Go to 4shared and download the 1Mobile Market, and install PocketTool and UTK. Then, go back to 4shared and download MCPELauncher Pro. Once you download that, go to UTK and the Mods folder and install needed files (theres a button). After that, go launch MCPELauncher Pro. It will bring up the ordinary Minecraft menu, but go to the options and you have a bunch of more advanced options. Scroll down until you see "Manage Patches" When you see that, click on it and then click import. Navigate through your folders to, "Android," "Data," "snowbound.pockettool" and click on patches. When you installed needed files on UTK, it switched all the mods to the pockettool folder. Click the one you want, then you can go get more. After you installed all the ones, check if "Safe Mode" is checked, which prevents the patches. If it is, uncheck it. Go to the menu, and create a new world and your mods will be in the game. However, the mods don't work if you open the ordinary Minecraft, you always have to open it with the MCPELauncher Pro. Hope this helps, it worked for me! I can now climb walls, open chests in creative, detonate TNT in creative, glide and throw snowball grenades. Good luck and feel free to ask me if you have any questions at all!

Thanks for your help. The main issue I was having was that I couldn't find MCPELauncher. I already had the rest. That said, is it normal for the movement arrows to be glitched out in texture packs, after the 6.whatever update that added the diagonal arrows?

The movement arrows glitch out for me as well, texture packs don't work as well as I hoped they would but some of them work- the John Smith one works for me...

Well this helped me a lot! I also have the Kindle and not having a texture pack was starting to upset me!!

if you search on google for minecraft pe 0.6.1 apk you can find a 4shared link to an apk file. uninstall the amazon appstore minecraft and install that one (might need ES file explorer for that) if you then search on 3rd party appstore (1mobile) you cn find an app called ultimate tool kit. install that and use it to download and install mods to your pocket edition. it will from there basically instruct you on what to do, but make sure you have pocket tool, because its required to install any mods or texture packs. sorry if that doesnt make sense, haha also as long as you have bought the game, i dont think its pirating to download the apk.

You're sooo right about if you buy an app it's not pirating BUT 500ISE is talking about how smartbeing is pirating an app he DIDN'T buy. What is with people? Always posting how to pirate 500ISE's HARD WORK! (I bought it off amazon appstore)
