Welcome! To the very first 0.13.0 Modification, this "mod" is technically a resource pack. In 0.13.0.b1, there is a items.json in the assets folder, which allows us to create custom Items.
Here I have an example of this with a custom items.meta, items-opaque.png, and items.json
What does it do?:
- Adds an item called Infinite Fruit (textue from Botania) with the id of 464
- When you eat the infinite fruit it will still be there
- It has the nutrition value of Beetroot Soup
How do I install this "data-based mod"?:
- Read the readme.txt in the assets I gave you
- Watch this video:
- Or wait for Blocklauncher to update and patch it as a texture pack

It's 0.13.0 build 2 now...
Very creative with the different way of the mod is introduced and made. This can actually make mods that add Custom Items to your game easier.
And again, very creative. I'll give you that.
