Well. Theres good new, the SpacePE mod is here!
This mod adds a FLIPPING ROCKET into your game which allows you to go to the Moon and Fight the big boss... (Keeping a secret, its in the video down below) and earn LOTS OF DIAMOND AND IRON AND GOLD AND LOVE! (Maybe not the last one)
To craft the rocket its 7 iron blocks and 2 redstone

Now guys, i know the moon is not in a different dimension, but its not really nessecary or possible to do in Minecraft PE, but once it is possible, i will make sure i update it straight away.

No, that isn't a new dimension. I mean by addons.

Its only possible through loading and saving of world from previous saves, and it crashes your game like crazy ... However, i know what you mean, some servers like Life Boat has achieved it through server add ons, but it is still completed by transports between saved world, i personally have tried it with a add on on my personal server but it is not yet possible through a mod script. <3

Actually, what 1x3y5 is talking about is not server addons (more commonly known as plugins). He is talking about addon mods. There is a way to make actual dimensions without new world saves. The game for instance has the nether and end dimension built in with no way to get to them in vanilla and nothing in them. However, you can use addon mods to hook those dimensions and reprogram them to do what you want! (for instance moon) also you could make a new dimension without overriding the others.

P.S. I know it is much more complicated then that, but just the jist!

Also, the "moon" looks a little bit strange (no offense!) Maybe make it more round or something. I think it really needs to be a new dimension. Try looking up addon mods. They are truly awesome.
Another neat idea.... on the moon decrease the gravity!

have spaceship to go to the moon with real animations going outer space in earth.. then mobs in moon.. ore moon, and gravity
