Maybe to power up torches and increase their light level? I am not sure if Block.setBrightness(or whatever it's called) is working. I know Block.setShape and Block.defineBlock (without textures) work.
@MattdaveMatt - I don't think you should make showcase videos of your own mods. I think you should make complex mods that are good enough for other people to want to showcase your mods. Then it will be an honour@

What's even worse is when your code end's up looking like someone else's and everyone thinks you stole the code. I hate those people. There are limitations in programming languages. No one is going to create a new language with 20 ways to write an if statement.

Yep, Block.defineBlock works. But like I said, you can't define the textures. All custom blocks are grey.
