I've been trying to change my skin, and everything seems to go fine, but when I try to open Minecraft after applying changes, it force closes. I have to uninstall it and reinstall from Google Play Store.
I cannot get the latest version to work. Every time I try to change the textures the app force closes.
I've been having the same problem. So now I'm stuck with the default textures until I can figure out how to get at the Minecraft PE apk file to open it up, replace the textures, and resign it.
Looking at the Google Play store, PocketTool Free 1.58 -- the same version as on github -- says it was updated for 0.4.0, so the forcex in the texture-change section may be an artifact of version incompatibility.

Yes, the version of PocketTool is 1.5.8; however, not only does PT fall on its face, but neither Astro File Manager nor App Backup & Restore can back up MCPE. I'm wondering if there's an issue with the install permissions on the app that's causing PT to error out of when it tries to read the app to copy it and add the new textures.
Can you fix it to change also the art (kz.png) for the paintings when you change the TP? I'm not sure but I think that it can't change the pigman skin...
I hope you can also add an option to easily delete installed TPs, thnx!
ok so i installed the app and i got it to work and installed doku craft texture pack but when i went on to minecraft the texture pack was fine except for the lava and water having "use the patcher you noob" like it does when you don't use MCpatcher on the pc is there anyway to get rid of it and have the normal lava and water texture????? help appreciated thanks x x

That's an texture pack issue, I guess, it's not ported or was not ported correctly...

Curse PremiumPress Menu - apply changes.
Btw I'm using the 1.5.9 version of pockettool.
Currently, the only way I found of solving it is rebooting your device. I'm using a Nexus 7.
