No... Im using the default texture pack... And I dont think it is because of the device because I can run the "mod" with fancy graphics... Anyone has come with the solution?

#1 try patching the other file
#2 try breaking the torch and placing it back again. Mabye the light needs to update?
I am ok, even on fancy graphics mode... :/ Or mabye your device can't work with that much memory?
Oh, and did you download the patches from the mane page or from the .zip file in the middle of the comments section?

Unfortunately after a bit more research i figured out that the j patch will give me a compatability ok, when i open a map the game force closes. when i use the other patch i get an incompatability error while patching but i can still apply changes and the game will run fine, except the shadow problem is there. So it appears there is no difference between either of the files on the first page and on the zip, back to square one
That's a link to a picture of the shadow bug so everyone is on the same page. If you applied the ambientlight mod and your shadows look like this, it's obviously not working properly.
I really hope this gets figured out, my droid x certainly has the capability of running this mod without a problem.
OK, so I probably did something wrong with the smooth lighting feature. Maybe Mojang also had the triangle shadow problem and thus removed it from MinecraftPE.

Wow that looks so awesome, I'm starting to think maybe it is processor related... No matter what i try i cannot get it to work on my non rooted Droid X, xzombiecreeperx patched an apk for me and it didnt seem to do anything.

It looks like phones with PowerVR GPUs are not compatiable with the mod. This includes most phones with TI OMAP processors. Now I understand why Mojang disabled the feature - because it fails on a large number of phones.
I'm using a droid x, no root. haven't tried on my a500 yet.
