Basically I want to join your mod team, I can help you out with the block IDs and the location of each one, so I can basically help you out with modding, right now I only have one mod(with the help of Jacop3's post about how to mod.
The mod I have right now changes grass to diamond ore, I have it ready, if you want me to join your team I'll give it to you in a pm.
I know it's not that big of a deal, and you could probably do it a lot faster than I can, I just wanted to help you out and as you said "contribute" to the modding community.

Cool, i'll get on it, quick question, are we on 0.4.0 or 0.4.0.4 or what? Because I need to include that in the txt file. Also, i'm gonna do it in notepad is that ok?

Smooth shader I am sorry to say isn't going to be released by me, I recently discovered bugs in mine(I can't craft) and the main reason I am not posting it is that it belongs to Darkfurry5, without his permission I won't submit a mildly tweaked version of his mod
That's is why it is under 'NEW'
