No it's a new mob. It has a new vtable that extends PigZombie. If mobs don't count as new mobs then neither does the PigZombie it self, since that extends the mob Zombie.

Can you make the T button next to the chat because you can't chat with it there

Awesome mod creation.But there's one problem the "T" button is interfering when typing in chat.its hard to press it as its almost covering the chat button.if u could,shift it a bit more to the left.im using iPhone

1. Can you change the properties of the duplicated "PigZombie" so that its acts like a whole new mob?
2. Will this be possible for everyone to do, or will we have to ask you to make things?

Now it is only a tiny step away to add a texture for a new item that you can for example add into creative mode.
