I've heard that the nametags code was taken out of the game, but today as I was browsing through IDA I found that it said something like "playernametags_visible" or "nametags_visible" but either way I saw it
Sorry if I'm wrong about the code being taken out.
Player nametags are currently possible through mods. I know that there is one for Android, and there is most likely one for iOS also. I don't think it was ever taken out, but I don't think it was ever unlocked in the game.
