I'm assuming the mods that we have right now would not work with this method. So technically, it is impossible to install mods even using this method. You could argue that if you made a mod that works with this method, then its possible. But since there aren't any mods like that(that I know of or that are released to the public), then I say its impossible. If my assumption is correct.

Even if people did get them, you can only perform quick binary patches, so nothing even that major.
