BlockLauncher's source is currently open. Besides, we are modding Minecraft with nothing more than a strings table in IDA - you really think we can't mod a simple launcher?
The strings table for iOS MCPE doesn't even give me enough information to create free-craft. I have to use the Android version of the app to find the specific functions. But I'm not the kind of person who denies people something with greater benefit because of an opposing side (as hypocritical as it may sound given my approach to a solution, I like to be fair to the masses), I'm the type of person to find solutions fit for both sides, and I invite others to do so as well.
Edit:
How about we come up with a system before 0.7.0, implement it until a new update arrives, collect information on how effective it was and collaborate on whether to keep the system or remove it? We are starting to set the framework by which all future mods will be used by, we need to come up with a system that is fair to single-player users and server owners. Also, by 'we' I mean all iOS/Android developer/modders and the PE community, since I don't want users of a specific OS to feel left out.

I must admit that I do not know how to create such a system, but I will welcome suggestions on how to implement it.
Modders can use a packet that is never used to check if the mod can be used. PocketMine-MP can send a packet like the AdventureSettingsPacket with some unused flags activated, deactivating compatible mods.
A way to block mods on a vanilla MCPE server seems impossible
It reminds me of the system that WoM Launcher, a Classic wrapper, did: it checked the MOTD of the server and looked for +hax before enabling cheats.
I like the idea of in-game mods but I'm sure MCPEpatcher will still be around or some form of it to enable Free Crafting regardless of the failsafes. Now I'm not a modder in any way and don't want to imply that I am so I may be very wrong but what I'm trying to say (if im correct) is that trying to altogether stop the creation of Free Crafting is impossible. It's a wide known and even more widely used tool in the creation of maps and it would be wrong to take that away from those who would use it for its intended purpose. But with the idea of implementing some sort of filter into a plugin making it impossible for those with that mod to join the game, I think that's the best route. But then again like I said earlier if someone REALLY wanted to grief they would find a way around any kind of filter put in place as more and more mods are created with good intent but used in all the wrong ways (I.e. Inventory editors or custom inventory). Now I also don't want to imply that I think creating a filter for the Free Crafting mod is a dumb idea. I think it's a great idea regardless of the other mods but to sum up what my point, I think Free Crafting should be updated and distributed like it used to be and, by all means, please make that filter for it but don't stop Free Crafting and make the rest of our wonderful map makers suffer because griefers are aholes! I mean if we do that wouldn't it only mean that the griefers won right? They successfully griefed us so bad that we're only hurting ourselves to try and stop them... Well that's my opinion and I hope I made a difference on the subject and that will be all from me ( And like I said I am in no way a modder and I may be very wrong on a few things but in all taking away Free Modding is just wrong in its own right.)
I think one solution might be modifying in-game mod-loaders to save inflated backups of a world upon starting a server with it. The best solution would be getting a Mojang staff to cooperate with implementing a working anti-grief method for official servers or backing-up a world before starting a server and prompting whether to save or not after quitting. But as I said before, getting Mojang to cooperate with developers to do anything as dubious as that at all would be like throwing your phone in lava, nothing will happen except it gets burned.

But what's stopping other players from getting it? it's their choice whether to have Sprinting or not so it really isn't unfair
Good point. Also, since everybody who can join an online server (hopefully with my MCServer :P) can therefore install other mods, that usnt an obstacle.
The free crafting mod has already been made, it was leaked on the Internet and enough people got it so it most likely will NEVER go away, all people have 2 do is locate the .mod or .patch file which can be located using ifile, and they edit it to work with minecraft pe 0.7.0, then it's there for everyone if they post it on Dropbox.

Maybe there are peeps which got the .mod file u can get it by not downloading in mcpepatch Obviously
I already have the mod, it's a nice little mod that I use to make adventure maps and when I get in a sticky situation with a creeper. I have multiplayer for minecraft pe and I turn ALL of my mods off when playing online
