I've decided to finally create an Erebor-like castle/compound in what appears to be the perfect seed. However, I do have a few questions:
1. Whats the best way to design the levels of the structure, because I'm kind of interested in leaving an open area in the middle, possibly with bridges crossing across it.
2. What's the best way to design the entrance? Mine usually come out too plain.
3. My go-to materials are stone bricks, slabs, stairs, etc. What materials could I use to keep the design from becoming old and boring quick?
4. How should I add in the walls? I always prefer to have them match the structure, instead of it having stone walls.
5. What room are necessary for a "perfect" castle? I only have a few ideas, and only five rooms in a giant structure would be a waste of space.
6. What's the best way to design arches? Mine tend to come out looking horrible.
7. What's the best way to incorporate homes, as well as stalls for "goods"?

This is kind of an update, for any thinking about voicing opinions. I've decided to pretty much build the entrance in what looks as if it could be a tall cave. The entrance was designed to be tall, and look more like a cathedral's...In a way. I'm still deciding on how to design the interior/first floor, but will put a screenshot up soon. I've been a bit busy recently.

Really wish I'd be getting some feedback, but I guess this'll be more like a "blog" for now. I'm slowly working on the "main chamber"-like part of the stronghold. Screenshots will come, most likely, by/on 5/29/16. My finals'll probably be a pain, but, hopefully, not enough of a pain to keep me from working on the stronghold.

Find it ironic that, as I wait, this gains (roughly) 10-20 views a day. Yet, sadly, still no responses. :/ Screenshots will come soon, as finals are still a pain.

My current plan is to have a sort of central part, where it will be circular (the picture above is my first try). This will show off however many floors the build ends up having. Still deciding on how much bigger the central part should be (will likely make it go to the ends of the platforms). Another idea is carving it out like a half-circle, so that the chambers get larger the further down you go. I also have an ambitious idea of building a nether fortress after this is completed, so it seems like the rulers had/ve a fail safe.

Would'ya look at that! 234 views! I think this is starting to get a bit popular (by my standards). Just a bit of an update: working on the circular chamber/center-thing. Lots of explosions needed, not enough time!

Well, my roughly 270 viewers, I finally have time now to get actual work done! Tomorrow, as long as nothing interferes, I am going to being to design a lot more of the chamber!
Question: How should the rooms look and or be designed? Should it be basic, with only the rooms qualities making it interesting, or is there something I could iterate to make it interesting?

Just for the people who have been viewing this long after I've abandoned it, this is being continued in the thread mentioned above, because it's not really a "Map" yet, so I've placed it under "Creations".

Well, I've finally gotten free time, and IT, as well as others, will be up in a short period of time.

Well, it's reached 204 views. Guess that means that this will be more of a blog. At least, until I make a large amount of progress. Hopefully.

Also, I'm going to move this to a new thread, for any who are interested: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-pocket-edition/mcpe-show-your-creation/2682763-erebor-inspired-compound-stronghold
