Hello guys, this would be one of my last posts before I start on my revision for exams. I have been online for the past few months, but I've not really been posting.
The v1.22/v1.23 Update will be released in November, with exciting new stuff!
Update Notes:
Addition of the New Wave Mall, a new shopping centre along Waterfront Way Further extensions of Waterfront Way Minor changes to existing buildings Addition of coloured signs Community Gardens (Maybe a new public library as well) And much more to come!
For now, I only have the screenshots of an unfinished New Wave Mall.
Exterior
Interior
And a supermarket
That is all that I can show you for now. Construction is very slow for this period of time, until my exams are over.
Hello guys, as promised, I'm back after 4 months of inactivity on this thread (the thread got pushed all the way back to page 11!)
I have some very exciting news on the development of the Modern Architecture Series!
Lots of changes and additions have been done to the city since the last update in May.
If you don't know them yet, here is the changelog:
Addition of the New Wave Mall and The Square, 2 new shopping areas along Waterfront Way
Minor changes to existing buildings
Revamped Progress Wall
Addition of signs on buildings (including coloured signs!)
Development of Waterfront Way (trams, extensions)
Roads (I have finally decided to add them! The roads in my map are inspired my miusername1's Ceylon City roads)
Community Gardens
Public Library
Park Expansions
Extension of Residential Area, with a cycling and walking path
The Modern City Rail (MCR) Headquarters, albeit incomplete
NOTE: There will be no subway stations for my map. It is not viable as it would only be 5-7 blocks deep, and canals will obstruct it. The subway stations will be available on the MAS: Modules map (a separate map)
In addition to this, there are some other changes that were not mentioned before. They are:
Progress Plaza, a new space in front of the Progress Wall structure
A new Visitor Information Centre, for tourists!
The release date for this update will be November 20th 2015, 2 weeks from now. Do keep an eye out for it!
Here are the screenshots of the new update!
A view of the extended Waterfront Way (everything in this picture is new and not found in the previous update)
The new MCR HQ, with a new metro line too!
The Progress Wall
Progress Plaza
And finally, the Visitor Information Centre!
More details will be given in a few days' time, as there are still incomplete roads and green spaces that will need to be taken care of!
Good news everyone! Everything stated in the changelog has more or less been completed, and this means that the update may come sooner than expected (up to 5 days earlier than the predetermined timing)!
The effort of this city its one of the most biggest i have ever seen, keep this work Nxus!!
One question, with which program you did the images of the principal page?
Thanks JdMC2805! I simply used Microsoft PowerPoint to type in the words in the text boxes, and some symbols for the Character Map. Then, I took a screenshot for each slide and added them onto the front page. The whole front page is just made up of a series of screenshots, copied and pasted one by one.
Why dont you name the stations like nature plants of the world?
That seems like quite a good idea, but it is definitely less practical. I still think naming the stations based on their location or a certain landmark would be better and more helpful. I could name some other things after the names of plants in my city (eg. houses and condominiums)
Hello guys! Back again with more news on the NXUS MAS.
The NXUS MAS has just reached 25,000 downloads today!
Also, in the past 5 days, I've been building a new basement carpark for the NXUS Convention and Exhibition Centre, a building to be completed and released in the v1.26 update.
Here are some screenshots:
Car Park Entrance B
Car Park (Red Zone)
Handicap Zone
Zebra Crossing / Entrance to escalators, stairs and lifts
Escalators leading up to the concourse
Be sure to look out for the new update, which will come out this Friday!
I just downloaded 0.13.0 for MCPE, and to my horror, the world runs at a ridiculously low 1 frame per second when I open it. I tried to open my other worlds at even the lowest render distance, and it was the same.
As such, I may have to postpone the release date for v1.23, until Mojang fixes this lag bug.
Hey guys, I will be releasing the v1.23 update today.
I have tried my best to remove the lag that has been affecting my progress on the udpate, but to no avail.
As such, the failsafe file for the update will be released for download. The failsafe file is the latest version of the city that was extracted on the day of the 0.13.0 update, where the world started to lag at around 1-2FPS. However, this will not be the final version for 1.23.
I am still waiting for Mojang to correct this lag issue, before I can release the official v1.23.
Also, I'll be off to New Zealand tomorrow for holiday, and may not be active for the next two weeks.
I tested this for 0.13 on a Nexus 9 tablet but I couldn't see any buildings. I spawned high up in the sky, same level as clouds, and it was raining: http://imgur.com/M09e7jV
Edit: Some progress. I managed to use a teleporting script to locate parts of the city. I will see if I can try and get the right coordinates for where the city is and if so share them with you here. Edit2: x=16, y=19, z=12 appears to be the center of the city. Should fix the spawn though.
Edit3: Parts of the city appears to be cut off. I assume this isn't how it's supposed to look?: http://imgur.com/a/1qkUY
Hmm... that seems quite serious. I'm not sure what is causing those world generation errors. I will try to find a solution after I'm back from my trip, apologies for that.
Just like what miusername1 has mentioned above, I have begun works on the modern houses, away from the laggy city centre. As such, the download version of 1.23 will be final (apologies for any lag or world generation issues you may be facing in v1.23).
The new 0.13 update can be quite frustrating, as my city's non-powered rails have an alignment problem (placing 2 adjacent parallel tracks will now give a zig-zag rail), but can also be more interesting as lots of new blocks can be used in the design of the buildings.
Until the lag bug is fixed, I cannot begin works on the Convention Centre, as well as the MCR HQ.
I will post pictures of the modern houses sometime next week.
Hey guys, as promised, attached are some screenshots of the 2 modern houses that I've recently built.
Because of the lag issues, I can only build on the outskirts of the city, and it seems that I am slowly losing interest in working on the city. The lag is hindering me from continuing the construction of the 2 buildings of MCR HQ, the Convention and Exhibition Centre, as well as the Redstone upgrades for the rail network. Construction may be slowed even further, since I would be more busy next year.
As such, there is a small possibility that if the problem continues, I would stop working on the city completely and focus on other smaller projects.
But not to worry, it doesn't mean that I would stop on Minecraft completely. I have been adding redstone power to the NXUS Rollercoaster, which means that it should be ready by next week. Moreover, the MAS:Modules project might be released in the first quarter of 2016, and will be focusing on the aspect of transport. A sequel to the Subterranean Facility will also be done, but the release date is to be confirmed.
Stay tuned for more updates. I wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It should be nice if you build a modern school/campus in your city, the people will like it especially the ones who likes to make a school roleplay series and actually I almost forgot it should have dorms.

I've been thinking about that too! I am planning on building a school near the Residential Area (close to the modern houses actually), and maybe a University of Technology and Design as part of an extension of the Business District, but that would come later, most likely after the proposed v1.26 Update.
When will you release v1.26 is it next year like May ?, 2016?
It is to be confirmed soon. I had plans to release it in Q1/Q2 of 2016, but the lag in 0.13.0 was rather unexpected, so I can't really work on the buildings planned for v1.26.
Hello again guys, and wishing you all a Happy New Year!
Introducing the Edgewood Update, an update that focuses on the extension of Sunset Boulevard, and is a replacement for the v1.26 Update which I cannot work on at the moment.
Here are some screenshots of the Edge Mall, the building that I am currently working on.
Bird's eye view of the mall. L2 is to be completed by next week.
Main entrance of the mall, adjacent to West Park Line station.
Side entrance of mall. Note that the mall is situated right between the 2 LRT stations.
The very first McDonald's outlet in my city! It's a little small though.
A pet store, with rabbits, cats, and dogs for sale!
And finally, a restaurant. (This is actually the first time I'm using bricks in my city!)
The mall will be done by next week, and afterwards I will be working on the Science Centre.

Yep, I'm currently thinking of some names for the stations, but I'll most likely name the LRT and Metro stations only.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
I'm not sure why, but it only happens on this world. I tried my other worlds, and it wasn't as laggy.
