The last time I checked, a Minecraft world as large as mine on the PC was ~3 gigs, and the last time I checked, ~3 gigs was not enough to fill the 64 GB capacity of an iPod Touch 5.
Sorry to say this, but people need to start using logic more.
You absolutely have no clue what your talking about. It isnt about the capacity, but rather Memory and Ram of the actual device, and the speed it runs. A computer Runs at like easily over 2 ghz. However, an average Phone only runs 1ghz.
I could get more specific, but I think you see my point.
wtf the best selling phone :galaxy s3 is stronger then one of my laptops and that can handel all that . dont you know how tech works the s4 is better then the average computer. and tablets (where the avarage mcpe player plays) is way trong enouge to handel that
the S4 is not better than an average computer. Specs of an average computer are :
" many computers now are at least 2.4 dual cores and some are 2.4 quad core. the 2gb ram "
You really dont seem like a programmer, If you really knew about programming, you should know why he is worried about the game.
I am. I can show you proof if you'd like. Anyway, I already posted why he must be worried. It's not the memory limitations, if caves were added they'd take up the same amount of RAM. It's the rendering system.

The fact that you think clockspeed is everything already shows you're not educated enough.
CPU power isn't only based on clockspeed. I can overclock a pentium 4 to 3.0 ghz but it won't be as great as a i5 or i3 at 2.5 ghz.
When you think of a Raspberry Pi at 1 ghz, it's not the same as a pentium 2 at 1ghz. More of a pentium 3 at 1.5-2.0 ghz (If I'm wrong, please tell me)
the S4 is not better than an average computer. Specs of an average computer are :

I agree with you, but if you didn't read above, you should.
Because of the programming language limitations on PC and Android/iOS
Nope. The phones use Java (iOS uses Objective C). Both languages are used on computers. I already stated the reason.

"Xbox only has 512mb of ram" was that despite Xboxs' sever limitation, it can still handle four separate chunks and viewpoints at 720p at 60fps.
You're completely wrong. RAM has little do do with Minecraft.
The reason consoles can run an little RAM is because PC's RAM is mostly used for the OS.
RAM has less to do with it than you think.
most PCs would require around 8 times as much RAM to run minecraft smoothly.
lel
Nope, I can play minecraft perfectly fine on a pc with 1 gig of ram. Where are you getting your stats? I can get around 25-ish fps on the overcast server with me only putting the graphics on fast and setting it on max fps. Not to mention I can set 50 tnt off without lag.
GPU and CPU are really the deciding factor. The fact that you think RAM is everything proves your ignorance.
I find it ironic I'm calling someone out on their ignorance, ;p
I said "8 times as much to run smoothly". 25fps isn't smooth at all.
It kinda is. Not to mention it's on an OVERCAST server with 100-ish people on your screen.
Second, I find it really odd you can even run minecraft at that fps when the minimum requirements state 2GB RAM. Even if you're using optifine that seems hard to believe. What are the other specs of your PC?
First off, you rely too much on specs. This isn't my main machine, I use it as a minimum requirements PC for my programs. It's a Compaq NC6000 with 1.7 GHZ Pentium M.
Second, I was merely remarking on the fact that features like the nether or infinite worlds are possible for phones as well, since an Xbox can run them with only 512mb of RAM.
Again you have a strange belief that everything comes down to the RAM amount. Listen. It's not a ram problem. It's a GPU problem. Phones can't handle that much stress. The pocket Edition creator needs to figure out a good rendering system, a nice one would be the method I suggested.
I have to say, what kind of programmer are you, who has a PC with only 1GB of RAM. Lol.
Funny you think this is my main machine. lel.
It's used as a minimum spec basis. I don't actually do "hardcore minecrafting" with it. (By the way, you don't need a "epik 16 gig machine" to do programming.
I was actually agreeing with your own points on this thread. Most of the PC features are definitely possible on a mobile device with some clever resource management.
I understand that. I'm just pointing out whats wrong with your statements
Thanks you for pointing this out! People on the app store and stuff say they want all this crap! What if they were the developers?
Did you not just read the previous posts? We were dicussing how much bs the OP is.
However, I do know the RAM isn't everything, but to my knowledge it tends to be a limiting factor for minecraft
Well it's not as important as you think. The only reason the RAM amount helps much in minecraft is because of how poorly coded minecraft is, it's riddled with memory leaks. That's one of the reasons why tnt lags so much. Also, the entities being spawned, but thats another topic entirely.
Anyhow, my main point was that an Xbox could run minecraft with that tiny amount of RAM, due to minecraft being really optimised for the Xbox, as well as being really well coded.
Then you just ignored my post. This is not true. Read it again.
Out of curiosity, since I'm considering a degree in computer science, what sort of field are you in?
lel I'm 12. But I seriously am a programmer. I'm writing a 2d topdown RPG in C++, working on and off on a voxel engine, and I'm messing around with a gta 1-ish game.
I can send you a screenshot of the RPG if you'd like.
I don't know what my field would be. I'm looking into undergrad college classes.

Cool, im interested, Ive written a RayCasting engine, and have started a topdown RPG in c++, do you use the SDL Graphics Library?
maybe sprinting and sneak they could add that because its not a big of a thing because if modders can do that they can do that to so this would'nt be so hard
Wasted your time? I'm being dead serious. I'm writing a voxel engine now. My improvement would probably take up more CPU time, but in the end it'd be worth it.
The fact that you're brushing me off because my age further proves your ignorance.

I use it for my 2D topdown RPG, but right now I only use it for window handling. I'm switching over to OpenGL. I use SDL for image loading.
I use OpenGL for the Voxel Engine, and I'm using it for the gta 1-ish game.
(Jealous of your raycasting engine, I wanted to make one of those. :P)
I really do love SDL. You can use it to load images, and with a little trickery can convert them to glTextures.
maybe sprinting and sneak they could add that because its not a big of a thing because if modders can do that they can do that to so this would'nt be so hard
Sprinting and sneaking shouldn't be hard. The only thing wrong with sprinting is that you'll need to load/unload chunks faster, which may mess with your FPS. It wouldn't be that bad, but how would the controls be nice?

Im also writing a voxel engine, in Java with my friends (Would be easier to make an android app with the engine written in java) >.< Since they dont know c++ Anyway It's going well so far. But if you want maybe I can help you out (Vice Versa) Sometime. :)!
I'm brushing you off since you are a hobbyist. You should stop making baseless assumptions.
You are self taught, I'm guessing, which is admirable, but don't call yourself a programmer as though you actually have some sort of qualification or discipline.
I'm also more annoyed at the fact that I didn't argue back with your opinions, since I thought you may be more knowledgeable, because of experience or such.
Also don't call me ignorant.
Well you are ignorant.
but don't call yourself a programmer as though you actually have some sort of qualification or discipline.
Qualificatation?
Many, many programmers don't have college degrees. You don't need one to be considered a programmer. You see the people who programmed GNU/Linux? They were hobbyists. Are they not programmers?
discipline.
wut
Again, the fact that you think all programmers need a degree further proves your ignorance.

Sounds nice. I don't have anything very good anymore(for the engine), I'm deleted the project and rewriting. (Code didn't look nice.)

Aren't most programmers self taught? Or is that just me...? My school doesnt teach you programming until senior year level like 11 or 12.

I agree with this post, you dont need a degree, most programming jobs ask for the degree, or experience similar.
Ahh okay, good luck
I'm just curious why would a twelve year old have multiple rigs to test software. What sort of " level" do you program at, are you still learning C++ or Java?
My dad's went to ITT Tech. He takes in broken computers, fixes them for money/us. I have multiple computers I can test on.
Level? I'd say I'm average. Not saying I'm the best, but I think I'm pretty decent at it.
This is the problem. You're putting words into my mouth, or drawing assumptions, then calling me ignorant on those points.
Maybe if you were more clear, I wouldn't make such assumptions.
I've already applied. And also, yes, I would feel happy too if the suggestion forums got deleted. Im always seeing a tree puncher go "I WANT INFINITE WORLDS" or "Mojang, we need more MCPE!" I mean, seriously? Mojang barely reads the suggestions here.
Mojang barely reads the PC forums, and Im willing to bet money they never have, and never will read the MCPE ones.
I could get more specific, but I think you see my point.
