Since Minecraft PE added controller support with 0.12.1 I figured I would kick this thread off in hope of finding a good controller that works. The controller support for mobile devices is splintered and its a pain to find out what works with what.
List what device(s) you have and what controller(s) you tried. also list whether or not your device had to be rooted or jailbroken to work with the controller. I'll keep this thread updated with any new information posted.

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
Controller PS4 with OTG cable :issue I can't place or break blocks anyone with the same issue?
Encountered a issue when using my tablet the setting bar comes out staticky anyone same issue and it only happens on the settings.
Is there any way to set the controller setting like the PlayStation controller settings I would highly appreciate it. Those are the only two issues I have encountered with v12.1

Hmmm... I'll have to find my USB dual-stick gamepad and see if it works with MCPE on my Toshiba Thrive. I've already used it in conjunction with NES and SNES emulators on the same tablet.

We have to believe in our free will. We have no choice in the matter.
Left stick, movement works, you can run around. You can't look around with the right stick and the game doesn't register ANY buttons on the controller. Don't think i'm doing anything wrong, going into controller configuration highlighting attack in the game and hitting any button on the controller again does nothing. To bad, this is a great little controller you can pull out of a pocket on break or when bored and waiting for virtually anything. I use the kickstand on my Otterbox case and pull out my controller and play Bard's Tale to which it works for, except that its missing 2 buttons, but with Minecraft it just doesn't register nothing but movement.
Jailbreak Or Root:[/b] Not sure if necessary, but I am rooted. Obviously, others like Forsaken have it working without root.
Works in B mode (HID). (Haven't tried it in A)
IMPORTANT: If looking around is slow, go into settings in Minecraft and adjust your sensitivity. This will fix the issue and you'll be whipping around so quick you'll get dizzy! [/b]

I placed all the data we have so far in a spreadsheet and posted it here:
