Hi guys,
I was wondering if the infinite worlds in MCPE v0.9.0 will be compatible with MCEdit, like the older worlds are sometimes compatible. For example, will I be able to copy a build from a PC world onto MCEdit, and then be able to copy it onto a PE world?
This used to sometimes work on other versions of MCPE, so will it work now?

The devs originally said that PC to PE world transfers were not possible, as many blocks in the PC aren't in PE. This will continue on until the devs have added all pre-existing blocks from PC to PE including: anvils, boats, enchantment tables, and other blocks. Once that is done, the devs have to the A. Keep up with PC edition's updates so no new blocks are added ahead of PE and B. The codes for the game allow for such world transfers.

Hope this helps a little!
What? He was asking if worlds could still be ported. The answer is sadly no, because of the new world saving format
However, people have ported worlds with MCEdit before. So it is possible. If you didn't already know, most of our favorite PE maps were ported from PC. Such as Cops And Robbers. The ONLY thing is that non-existing items would be replaced.
-the new format is based on LevelDB by Google.
-we didn't do this to save megabytes, but as the old format was 100% not working with infinite worlds, we needed a new flexible storage. As a plus, it's also fast and compresses better.
-we're planning to release our version of LevelDB as open source (after 0.9 iOS is out) so every tool can read/write maps even easier than before.
-I've already passed our LevelDB version to MCEdit's author so he can update it for 0.9.

Thanks, this has helped a lot. I have used MCEdit before with MCPE and it is good to see that I will be able to use it with the new worlds after it has been updated. Thanks guys!
It is possible to edit stuff with 0.8.x worlds, transfer it to MCPE, and make it infinite with PocketInvEditor but none of the blocks added in 0.9.0 are in this version of MCEdit.

I have iOS (iPad) and iFUNBOX. I use iFUNBOX on the PC much the same way I believe people use PocketInvEditor. Is it possible you or anyone else can tell me what I must do to make 0.8.x worlds infinite? When I look at the file structure of the 0.9.0 worlds, there is a big difference from the 0.8.0.

Open a 0.8.x world in 0.9.0, then close it.
Make a new 0.9.0 world, doesn't matter if its survival or creative, close it.
Open iExplorer, go to Minecraft PE > Documents > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds > your 0.8.x world.
Go into the files for the 0.8.x world, delete db.
Go into the files for your 0.9.0 world, copy db and paste it into the 0.8.x world.
Done. Your 0.8.x world is infinite.
But there will be an ugly border around the old map, it will be hard to remove without MCEdit. Hopefully it's updated soon for 0.9.0.

On Andriod devices, you can also get PocketInvEditor, and make it infinite from there There is an option to make it infinite in the world options. I don't know if your an android player or not.

Yup. But for iOS users who can't get PocketInvEditor, they have to copy the db files from a 0.9.0 world into an old world to make it infinite.

CodeWarrior has to update MCEdit. It's open source but so far nobody knows how to make it work. It could be out tommorow or 10 years from now, he hasnt been on the forum since March.

97% of teenagers would cry if they saw Justin Bieber on top of a tower about to jump. If your the 3% who is sitting there with popcorn screaming "DO A BACKFLIP", copy and paste this as your signature.

And I'm pretty sure Cops And Robbers requires more than that, and a couple PC maps we need...

And apparently tommo actually showed the creators of MCEdit how the new worlds work. Just Saying.
