1. no crafting
2. only creative mode
3. no mobs, but with the data it uses, that isn't gonna happen anytime soon
4. crashes way too often
5. no redstone
6. no way to transport water if you're lucky enough to find it
7.the worlds are way too small
8. i could keep going, but i think you understand.
You aren't the first to mention this. I'm still wondering why people think a phone will run the same program some PC's have trouble running? It's tamed down to run on a phone, for crying out loud!
(Not to mention why you'd want to even try to play the full MC on a little bitty tiny screen).
I've had no crashes at all. Course I'm running it on a 2011 iPad, i7, 4gig ram, 256 HD.
Am I disappointed that there isn't a bit more to it? Of course!
But it IS the alpha version, after all....
Older generations of iPod touches are EXTREMELY slow. Minecraft would run about as fast as someone that eats at McDonald's three times a day. And don't blame Mojang, because they can't do anything about the rules that Apple enforces on them.
I'm not angry at mojang for making mc pe 3rd gen and up, i'm angry at apple because the 8 gig ipod touch 3rd gen is actually the second gen with 3rd gen software, and now my friend cant play multiplayer with me cuz he has the 8 gigabyte "third generation"
Many of us iPod, iPhone, users may not really be able to get the Pocket Edition
I myself have an iPod Touch 2G. the highest firmware version it can get is 4.2.1
This aplies to the ipod touch 3g and iphone 3g as well
Probaby after many modifications it may become "playable" on the earlier ones
But if you have any iOS device that cant support iOs 4.3
No minecraft for you!
and yes, i know that it its because the devices are not powerful enough to support it
You can't get it on android either unless you at least have android 2.3

Clearly, you weren't around for creative/indev/infdev/alpha. It's only a beginning. This is how Minecraft for PC originally started as well. Give it time.
It probably won't ever be exactly the same, as it would take up too much memory. But anyway.
I dont want to say angry, just disappointed. as a fan of Minecraft, this does not live up to my expectation of the ios version of the game. i was expecting at least an upgraded version of the android version that came out some time ago, but its just the same. I wold have thought with the time they had between gaming the game they could have at least updated it a little.

Please get your facts straight before making a post. I personally have an iPod Touch 3rd Generation 32GB. I can run Minecraft PE very well with no lag. What Apple did when they released the 3rd Generation, they only upgraded the 32GB and 64 GB versions with the new processor. All they did for the 8GB version was give it a lower price because part of their marketing scheme is forcing you to upgrade your device to the latest version.
I'm running MC PE off of fw 4.2.6(I'm jailbroken FYI) I just had to edit a simple file on my iPhone to make the App Store think I was on fw 4.3. The game runs absolutely fine on fw 4.2.6
I am jailbroken also, and I edited the systemversion.plist (or something like that if that isn't the correct name). I am running iOS 4.2.1 and I changed it to say iOS 4.3.2 and change the product build code to match the iOS version. I go to the app store and download the app, and when It starts installing I get a message that says "Minecraft-PE will become available for download when you log into the iTunes store on your computer." (my iTunes is also thinking I'm running iOS 4.3.2) someone PLEASE help.
Just be patient, they will probably start updating it regularly once they find time to do it.
Probably true. But still, would still like to be able to play as I described in my earlier post, at least until that update comes out, or until it will be playable on other devices
didnt you guys hear that they are going to release an update for it once they get it to work on all the devices they want to?
I havent heard anything about this, and if thats the case thats doesnt seem right in my eye. So basically give everyone a half assed game till every and all devices have it then work on updates? I mean unless the apple version is the final device to get it we could be waiting months, to years till we see an update for this game. Why not work on it now, or better yet when it was first released on the droid, and give out updated version of the games when they get released on other devices?

You cant, because iPhone\iPod Touch 2g cant handle it

No but I hope that's true because I cannot live off of "Eden world builder" much longer(at least for a mobile version)
