If you have ever played survival mode for a decent amount of time, chances are that from mining, building, and exploring your inventory and chests started to fill up with dirt, bushes, sand, or other materials that just have no use to you. This mod aims to change that by bringing practical uses to those impractical items.
Features
Allows you to convert dirt into ore in a way similar to the Earth's process
Gives the ability to turn a dead bush into sticks, finally making those ugly things worth picking up
Can turn leaves into apples,a useful way to get some weak food in a pinch
Finally gives something to do with those random poisonous potatoes
Adds a middle-ground between leather and iron
Adds utility armor
Allows for the use of bones instead of sticks to make stronger tools and weapons
Config Files: Don't like something you see? turn it off!
One or two secrets (shhhh!)
Planned
Using poisonous potato to make poisons and poison weapons
Prismarine tools and weapons
Ways to make gravel and sand more useful building materials
Any suggestions
Bone Uses - 0.0.4
Something to do with those icky slime-balls other than bounce around - 0.0.4
A config file, so you can tailor the mod to be most useful to you. Yes you. - 0.0.5
NEW UPDATE
Features:
(New) Added Config File!
Configuration File:
For those who like some of the mod, but not all of it, or those who want to tweak what is already here! Now this mod may be changed to be as useful to you as possible!
The Config File can:
-Turn off or on the creation of Compact Dirt, Unknown Rocks, and Compact Compact Dirt
-Turn off or on the creation of apples from leaves, or sticks from dead bushes
-Turn off or on the burning of toxins out of the poisonous potato
-Adjust the amount of sticks gained from converting dead bushes
-Adjust the amount of apples gained from converting leaves
-Turn on or off the creation of Bone Armour
-Turn on or off the creation of Slime Armour
-Turn on or off the creation of Bone-hybrid Tools
-Adjust the drop rate of ores, and the amount dropped from the Unknown Rock
With the ability to adjust anything, this mod should have something for everyone!
Instructions:
-First, run the updated mod once.
-A new file should be in the "mods" folder named "UU.cfg"
-Open in any basic text editor, and change away!
-To edit the Unknown Rock's drops, you must first break one in game. This ensures players know how the drops work, and get an idea of what is or is not too powerful. A file named "UnkownRockConfig.cfg" will appear. This will only need to be done once, unless the file is deleted.
Bone Armor
Bone Armor is meant to be a new armor between iron and leather. There is a huge difference between the stats of the two, so bone armor fits perfectly in between
Stats:
Leather:
Durability: 5
Armor: 7
Enchantability: 15
Bone:
Durability: 10
Armor: 10
Enchantability: 11
Iron:
Durability: 15
Armor: 15
Enchantability: 9
As you can see, a perfect middle
Why no pictures?
Bone armor has a unique look and design, I wouldn't want to spoil it!
Slime Armor
Slime armor is a bit different than the rest of its peers. Slime armor is a utility armor, meaning it isn't necessarily meant to be used for just defense.
While worn, the suit has some useful effects. The boots give a constant Jump Boost III (slime is bouncy, after all), and the entire suit together provides some extras.
The bouncy, squishy nature of the slime provides a lovely boost to defense from all sources (Resistance III) since arrows and hits will bounce off, or get absorbed in the slime before the full force can be applied. On top of this, the malleability of gooey slime causes it to be able to take very large amounts of damage before breaking.
Bouncy squishiness is a double-edged sword however, as not only do other's attacks bounce off, but your own as well. This makes it harder to mine, and makes you hit softer (Mining Fatigue II, Weakness II).
Stats:
Durability: 25
Armor: 8
Enchantability: 10
Probable questions:
How come the boots cover the legs as well?
I like to keep my mods at least semi-realistic and provide some logic to everything. The armor was made this way for two reasons: 1. Shoes themselves would not be able to provide the extra power needed to jump 3 times as high, and most jumping power comes from the knees anyway. 2. The effect allows you to wear other leggings with the boots, and the leggings will appear underneath.
But Mr. All-powerful mod maker sir, Why is it that the armor is transparent in my inventory, but not in third person?
Unfortunately, that is just how it works. Minecraft renders the armor differently in your inventory than in third person, and I have been unable to find an effective way around this.
Bone Hybrid Tools
Bone Hybrids are an effective way to extend the lifetime of your tools. They are not new tiers of tools, but rather improvements on the already existing ones.
All you have to do is put bones in place of sticks when making a tool or weapon, and you get the hybrid.
Hybrid tools have all the same stats as their normal counterparts, but instead have much higher durability (Bone is just a tad bit harder to break than a twig, after all)
Durability:
Wood: 60 ---> 100
Stone: 132 ---> 200
Iron: 250 ---> 300
Gold: 32 ---> 50
Diamond: 1562 ---> 2000
One or two Easter eggs, as hints of what is to come! (Hint: one starts with a "P")
Crafting
Dirt to rock:
To make dirt into ores, you must first compress the dirt
After that, it still isn't under enough pressure, so you must compress it again
Now all you need to do is add the heat, and just like in the Earth, the dirt becomes a rock
The Unknown Rock has a chance to drop different ores:
50% for coal (1-3) | 25% for Iron (1-2) | 12.5% for Redstone (1-4) | 10% for Gold (1) | 5% for Emerald (1) | 1% for Diamond (1)
Both Compressed Dirt forms are also useful building materials, having a blast resistance very similar to stone, but can be dug up faster if you make a mistake
Poisonous Potato Use:
Currently, you can only cook the toxins out of the potato, but more uses are to come
Version 0.0.5: Config File! Configure almost any part of the mod
Version 0.0.4: Added Slime Armor, Added Bone Armor, Added Bone-Hybrid Tools, Nerfed Leaf to Apple, Added *Easter Eggs*, Re-worked the code to compensate for the larger-than-originally-planed mod
Version 0.0.3: Poisonous potato use
Version 0.0.2: Added dirt to rock system, dead bush to sticks, leaves to apples, mod released

I would have to agree with you there. From the beginning I felt this was a little too powerful, but I wanted to see other's opinions on it. I have considered changing it from apples to saplings, or just removing it altogether. I am always open to suggestions, please feel free to voice any ideas
Items that need more uses... Bones. Gunpowder. String. Rotten Flesh.
I should also say that I am already working on uses for bones, possibly armour and weapons/tools. Another idea that was given to me was allowing bones to be used as sticks to make stronger variations of tools already in the game, and I am considering that as well.
For the apple and leaf recipe being too OP you could make it nine leaves to create the apple. It would make it a little less easy to get hordes of food.

That is a great idea and I will gladly take it into consideration, though I do wonder about 3x3 being too expensive just for an apple. Maybe 2x2 instead?
There shouldn´t be a prismarine tier. It would be better to add an unique weapon made from prismarine, both because adding a tool tier only means that it becomes useless later, and because the game could use more weapons. I´d suggest a mid-ranged weapon that behaves similarily to guardian beams.
I should also say that I am already working on uses for bones, possibly armour and weapons/tools. Another idea that was given to me was allowing bones to be used as sticks to make stronger variations of tools already in the game, and I am considering that as well.
I really recommend not to do that. If people want stronger tools, they use other mods that provide more of them and better ones. I suggest if you actually bring in bone tools, no matter if they are the stick or the front of the tool, then balance them out, meaning - for example - decrease their durability but make them mine faster. Or set their enchantability to a very low level. And so on. But I actually do have a use for bones in mind.
Which would be Bone Frames.
Essentially, its a Block similar to a window, meaning in the middle of it there is nothing, and the borders are bones. (So, exactly what the name says. A frame made from bones). Then if the player right clicks it with a bone, the frame gets 1 bone in the texture going diagonally through it. If the player right clicks with another bone, the frame gets another bone, going diagonally on the other diagonal axis.
There are different upgrade paths. Upgrading to a X-Boneframe (bone frame with x made of bones in the middle) will make it quite stable while still having players be able to see through it. Upgrading a Boneframe with Glass would put a glass-like texture in between the bones of the texture, making a Bone window block. Right clicking with cobblestone would make framed cobblestone. Right clicking with gunpowder would make framed gunpowder (which is essentially a bone frame filled with gunpowder, that has a chance of blowing up when there is a heat source too close. Right clicking the framed gunpowder block with planks would make a gunpowder crate, that is immune to exploding from a heat source, unless the block catches fire.
Upgrading a bone frame with redstone dust will make it act like a circuit, but as a whole block (and it would emit light when powered). Upgrading a bone frame with iron ingots would make framed iron, which would pretty much be immune to alot of damage, meaning that it is about as stable as obsidian. And so on... upgrading with glowstone would make a bone lamp, etc etc.
For the bone frame recipe, I thought about something like this:
String: S
Bone: B
Nothing: X
S B S
B X B
S B S
Which would make the frame itself really easy to craft, nothing the player would have to farm for for ages.
One more thing. When an upgraded bone frame gets broken, it will not drop. Instead, it will go back into the previous stage of it, so, for example, gunpowder crate back to framed gunpowder. X-Boneframe back to /-Boneframe. /-Boneframe back to normal boneframe. Framed cobblestone back to a normal boneframe. This makes it possible to make a wall that will not need full repair when a creeper explodes next to it; instead, it will only require a re-upgrade. (some will instantly break from a creeper explosion, tho, and not downgrade).
Anyways, I hope you like the ideas. If you have questions, feel free to ask. If I get some ideas for the other items, I will inform you.
For the bone-as-sticks, it was never meant as a complete new set of tools, just the same tool type with increased durability (a lot easier to snap a twig than a bone) so that you could get more life out of your tools without using more valuable resources (iron, diamond), essentially more bang for your buck. For example, an iron pick normally has 251 uses, but by using bone to make it instead of sticks you could increase it to, say, 301.
As for the Bone Frames, I do like the idea of a multi-use adaptable block, and would be more than happy to make a separate micro-mod kind of deal for you to add this block even if I decide not to implement it in UsefullUselessness, however, I am confused as to what the frame actually is. In some parts you refer to it as though it was similar to an item frame, but in other parts you refer to it as a full block. Why don't you send me a message with full details about your plan for this item, so that I can work with you to see that your vision is fully realized. Thanks

The Bone Frame is only called a frame, but it is, in fact, a block. I already have some textures, because I originally had planned to have it in a Melanistic mod, but nobody implemented it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
I would suggest putting a use for the dragon egg, and make a way to make the spawn eggs for everything.

That apple leaf recipe is really OP; grow a tree, get a pair of shears, cut down all the leaves and get a stack of apples, repeat.
