Attention! This mod wasn't updated for a long time, because i'm working now on Industrial Craft addon. If you love to play with Industrial Craft, you might download my addon "handpump" at that link: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=10458. It's provide same functionality as this mod and even more, but need Industrial Craft 2 to be installed.
This is good, seems simple and whatnot and like the other guy said, there may already be a mod like this. Now what you should add is water levels, make the water go down as it flows into another container. If you need a reference to what I mean, look at the Terraria water physics.

You mean, make liquid block change its level slowly, instead of replacing flow by source momentarily? This gonna be quite a challenge!
1. FiniteLiquids last version is for Minecraft beta. It is much easier to make new mod from 0, then use any part of old mod.
2. "
all of the water created by the map generator will be replaced.
" That means, no industrial craft or buildcraft support without additional code.
3. It's very easy to generate world with "finite type" water, because Forge already have such block in code. Just add new block and generate world with it instead of normal water. My goal - gain compability with any 3rd side mod without looking in ones source.
4. My goal also include to save ability to make vanilla fontains and save already generated in world.
hope you do well with this, i tried the 1.6.4 version on our server for a few minutes but the water level gets stuck until you force a block update regularly and attempting to pump it up with most mods crashed the server so hoping you get it stable and useable long term.

24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.

i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.

Requesting crash report. Is it was "nullPointer" or any other exception? And it seems, i must add "world.scheduleBlockUpdate" to any block i change?

yeah, i should be able to get you at least the client crash report, my buddy still has 1.6.4 server hosted, i'm working on getting our capable one for 1.7.2 up though so i can't give you a server crash as well at the moment, would have to figure out PuTTY and all that, can get it to you sometime soonish though probably if you need the server one as well.
alright, just tested and can't reproduce in SSP, i'll get him to put it back on the server when he's up, i can't stop and start it remotely.

to check liquid source. So, i guess, it must be compatable (when working on break block event). But i absolutly sure, that using bucket will not work with custom liquids.
Try it and post result here.
Yeah watched video. Video is cool. But I still need and explanation because mod doesn't do what the video implies.
Does it only work with glass, or what? Does it depend on the height? what...?
I mean I put down water with my bucket and it stll behaves like an infinite water source. So what does this mod do, exactly?
And what does the "use bucket remotely" mean?
Oh and by the way I am using the 1.6.4 version.

Ohhh..!! I finally get it.
This just lets you pick up water from the flowing water (removing the source block in the process). The video really makes it look like it is doing something else.

Good. Mod didn't change any blocks or affect world generation. It's just hook on "bucket use" event and "block break" event.

Yeah, I have begun to notice some very odd things happening when you dig a hole underneath a body of water. I think that part might need a little adjustment -- so much water draining down into such a little hole.
This mod adds some physics to vanilla Minecraft liquids, also allows you to use a bucket remotely.
Lava work same way.
Requements: Forge, Minecraft 1.7.2 or 1.6.4.

It's little mods like this which I love
Really helps in reducing lag.
(Does this also work with modded liquids?
I agree. It's little mods like this that sometimes get lost in the shadow of bigger mods but I think this mod is awesome. Keep up the great work.
