Update!!
This mod has been merged with my brand new mod, HudPlus! Any new updates will be performed on that mod and listed on that forum thread, so head on over and check out the new stuff!
Description
With all the new mods out there adding additional items, tools, and weapons, I found it to be very inconvenient (and often dangerous) to go into my inventory everytime I need to either change or replace one of the items on my hotbar. The solution is simple: Hotbar Plus.
How-to Use
With the press of a button (left control by default. Can be changed in key bindings), Hotbar Plus will display the two items right above the respective hotbar slot from the inventory. Then by pressing either the 'b' or 'v' key will switch the top-most or bottom-most item with the hotbar respectively.

As with any other mod, make sure you have the latest version of Forge installed. It can be found here. Then drop the downloaded jar into the mods folder in your AppData .minecraft folder and you should be all set!
I did actually try those options to begin with. However, the Minecraft main class grabs those inputs for the normal hotbar and there is currently no way to make it ignore the inputs while I use them for something else. So what would happen is while I could get it to properly select items from the extended hotbar, you would see the text that displays when you switch items, and after you closed the extended hotbar the highlighted item on your hotbar would almost always be different that the one you started with. So until the Forge Team adds a hook to change this, we are unfortunately stuck with button presses
This is an awesome mod, but it's not working for me in Multiplayer. I can show the extended hotbar but pressing B and V do nothing but close the extended hotbar. It works fine in Singleplayer, though.

Currently looking into it. Should come out in v1.1.0.

More to the point, last I checked, the rules actually do require an image for release threads.

This'll help tremendously :D.
Wow! Much appreciated!
Awesome! Can't wait!
Not entirely sure. Either describe in detail how it is not working or record a small video, and I will see what I can do
Diamonds for you!
Huzzah!
Added! By the way, its pronounced 'ori-lucks'
