This mod makes exploration exciting again by adding 16 statues for you to discover, randomly generated to produce thousands of unique results, each of which affects the world around it in its own individual way. Discover dangerous statues, helpful statues, and just plain weird ones! MIX & MATCH pieces to create NEW EFFECTS!
The Statues (a guide):
Each statue is comprised of three parts: the head, the torso, and the feet. When combined, these parts work in tandem to produce the unique effect of that statue, by forming a sort of 'sentence' that the player can modify by switching out parts. A new piece often means a new effect, so experiment with all the possible combinations and remember the names of the ones you like most!
1. Hephaestus- Armorer to the Gods and Patron of Metallurgy!
Each statue piece has a different speed, some slower and some faster, and the combined speed of each piece is how long before the next time the statue will activate!
Pieces of the same set will have a synergistic effect when 2 or more are used together. Discover all the synergies!
Statue pieces cannot be crafted, only found. Keep an eye out for the unusual as they may be buried.
Installation:
1. Install Forge.
2. Delete META INF folder.
3. Place Household Gods zip file in Minecraft's /mods folder.
4. Enjoy!
Change Log
7.20.2013
-Made range in which statue-spawned lightning may be heard customizable.
6.26.2013
-Config option for lightning now exists! Set "Proximity Lightning" to turn off lightning sound unless you are within 16 blocks of the statue. Lightning remains otherwise visible.
-Fixed 'Asc' auras ceasing to work upon exiting a world until the statue head is removed and reattached. -Asc-headed statues should now always offer an area buff to creatures (determined by the feet) of a type determined by the torso. Hint: you probably want 'ius'.
-Gold blocks placed beneath the feet of a statue will prevent it from attempting to affect the world around it. Aura statues excluded.
-Spawn amount is now up to AND including the number in the config file.
-Statue pieces now save orientation when leaving a chunk or exiting the game.
-Definitely SMP compatible this time. I hope.
-Self-duplicating statues now stop when they find a certain number of other statues in a large area. They will attempt to teleport either the offending statues or themselves until they find space to duplicate.
-Added config-controlled limit for maximum number of statues before duplication ceases.
-Added config-controlled limit for maximum number of items a statue can have spawned at one time.
-'Be' will now attack players for a percentage of max life, allowing 2-3 hits before player is killed.
-'Be' attack type changed from 'magic' to 'physical,' which should allow armor to mitigate further damage (untested).
-Certain variants of 'Heph' may now enchant weapons and armor in player/monster inventory.
-'Asc' heavily buffed. Now it creates an aura (like the beacon!), determined by the torso, and affecting creatures, determined by the feet.
-Added "Lightning Resist" potion effect for 'Asc' (potion not brewable).
-Added "Thorns" potion effect for 'Asc' (potion not brewable).
-Added "Featherfall" potion effect for 'Asc' (potion not brewable).
-Fixed Demeter typo. Pieces should be 'De' 'me' 'ter'.
2.24.2013
- Household Gods should now work in SMP for Forge 1.4.7-6.6.0.497
2.8.2013
- Household Gods now native to Forge!
- Added config file.
- Statues may now spawn in caves/underground areas.
- Fixed bug where maximum number of statues always spawned at valid locations.
- Fixed 'Tze' crashing when no players were within range.
1.13.2013
-Fixed ‘Gozer’ catching entity in infinite teleportation loop.
- ‘aes’ and ‘t’ should now behave as defined in the guide.
- ‘tus’ now not the only piece a statue may drop.
- statues may now: teleport other statues, clone themselves, or create new statues.
1.11.2013
- Fixed crash caused when “Heph” head interacts with creatures.
- Changed “zal” torso so Quetzalcoatl no longer drops nether wart only.
- Fire in “meth” torso’s hand should now rotate properly with torso.
Known Bugs:
-Currently no art for new potion effects. Will resolve in future.
Future Updates:

This mod is actually very interesting. The statues by themselves are powerful tools but when you mix them together they are exremely awsome. Cant wait to see this mod progress!
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm a pretty big fan of mythology myself, and I'm really liking the idea of King Midas. He promises a lot of weird interactions with other statue pieces. Good thought.
I think that this is a really cool mod and I am definitely going to be playing with it a bit. As for some ideas for more statues, I'll pitch some patron gods of mine. Cernnunos, Hekate, Circe, IDK exactly what you could do with them, but exploring their lore like you've done with these current statues could make for some really cool creations I think.
@ MineCrates: Thanks! And I hope you're right!
@ Sorcero: I've never heard of Cernnunos before, but some cursory research suggests he'd be interesting. An antlered god would be pretty appealing, visually.
@ sirrockyqo: Yeah, a Notch/Herobrine thing would be the logical addition. I've also discovered recently that putting the in-game heads (skeleton, zombie, pig, etc.) on the shoulders of a statue looks pretty hilarious. I may have to do something about that...
@ TCTNGamiz: Thanks so much for the review! Awesome!
@ Golubvik and SbGamer: Thanks!
@ MrWilliamo: Send me a link when you've made it!
@ creepusjavus1234: sort of like the Beacon? I haven't looked into how that works yet, but proximity buffs and debuffs would be neat. And there are totally statue variations that spawn hostile mobs. I think Ju-nu-wulf is one of them.

Very interesting and original- I've never seen anything like it. The idea is original and allows for near-endless discovery and customization, especially if the choices are adequately expanded. The concept of the adapting this mod's effects with those of other mods sounds like a daunting task, but a very good one.
As a modloader mod, it should be compatible with Forge Modloader, if only in SSP. As I run a Forge server and rarely play in SSP, I will not be using it. However, rest assured I will be keeping an eye on it-- even it it's just to see where it's going from here.
I downloaded this mod tonight, and frankly, it's amazing. I love how customisable it is. The only issue I've had though is that sometimes the gods will delete blocks (including the blocks making my house and each other). Thank you so much for making such a fun mod though!
