Ever gazed longingly at an Ender portal, wishing you could have that neat effect in your house? Well, now you can, with the Ender Block mod.
In it's current state, this mod is nothing special. However, it will eventually become part of a much larger mod. Info about that can be found in the WIP mod section.
This mod is nothing more than a block that has the Ender portal particle texture on it, so don't expect any spiffy miracles.
This block IS resource intensive. The particle field effect for the Ender portal was only ever designed to be rendered on the top side of a block, and there's only supposed to be 18 of those per world. If this block starts to lag your game once placed, don't come whining to me. That's just life.
Obtaining the block is simple. Just place four ender pearls in a square. The resulting item does NOT have a texture, so you won't see it in the craft result slot. But mouse over it, and you'll see it's tooltip. If you want to apply a texture to this block, just modify "trans.png" in the mod zip.
Finally, a big thanks to Azanor, creator of Thaumcraft, for helping me get the rendering code figured out.
If you modify trans.png, do you modify the look of the block when placed?
If not, you should make a default look for the block instead of keeping it invisible.
Modifying trans.png will modify the block. Any spots you leave transparent, the ender portal effect will show through. I just left it completely transparent so people can do what they want with it.
