This mod adds several torches (for now 4) which have different functions and colors. Currently there are the flip flop torch (blue), the Glowstone torch (yellow), the Flash torch (green), and the Photo torch (dark violet). They are nice additions to your redstone mechanics and needs!
Note that this mod is a replacement for my previous mods "Flip Flop Torches Mod" and "Glowstone Torches Mod", so they cannot be downloaded seperately now. However, if you only want these torches, look in the "Troubleshooting and Configuration" section (4). Also the old downloads will be still there!
This mod needs some requirements to run properly:
- Latest MinecraftForge (client)

FOR WINDOWS (Complicated install)
Navigate to the bin folder of your .minecraft directory, i.e. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin
MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR MINECRAFT.JAR!
Open up the minecraft.jar with a decompression program, i.e. 7zip
Install MinecraftForge, if it's not happend yet.
Delete the META-INF folder! (if it's still there)

The Flip Flop Torch
The flip flop torches acts, as the name already says, like a flip flop:
Place the flip flop torch
Powering
Torch changes its status from off to on
Turn off powering
Powering
Torch changes its status from on to off
Turn off powering
and so on
If you right-click on the torch, it reset its status to off.
Crafting Recipe:
The Glowstone Torch
These torches give the same amount of light like glowstone and redstone lamp and they work like redstone lamps, but they have some advantages:
you can walk through
they are tinier than redstone lamps
they need only one piece of redstone to craft
Also they enlighten the environment right after you've placed these, so you don't need to power them. But you can turn them off through powering them.
Crafting Recipe:
The Flash Torch
The Flash Torch goes on and off periodical after 1/4th second. So it will stay on for 1/4th second and gives off light and power. After that it goes off for 1/4th second and so on. Ideal for light chaser or timers.
Crafting Recipe:
The Photo Torch
No, they're not taking photos of their environment, but they can "see" if it's bright enough or not. That means, if the light level is above 7, they're on and provide power. If it drops below they will go off and don't provide power anymore. This is useful to detect if the area can't spawn monsters or for lightning systems which should go on in the evening and go off in the morning.

Here are some examples for what you can do with these torches:

How can you configure the mod? It’s easy! The mod creates on the first start of minecraft with it a file names “config.txt” in the “.minecraft/mods/TorchesMod/” directory.
To configure the Mod, open up the config.txt with a text editor of your choice (I recommend Notepad++). The file should look like this:
TORCHESMOD CONFIG.TXT VER 1.0
----------------
[ Block IDs ]
# FlipFlopTorch_idle = 218
# FlipFlopTorch_active = 219
# GlowstoneTorch_idle = 220
# GlowstoneTorch_active = 221
# FlashTorch_idle = 222
# FlashTorch_active = 223
# PhotoTorch = 224
[ Other Settings ]
# turnFFStatusWhenFFPowered = true
[ Enabled Torches ]
# EnableFlipFlopTorch = true
# EnableGlowstoneTorch = true
# EnableFlashTorch = true
# EnablePhotoTorch = true
Under [ Block IDs ] you can edit the ID’s for the torches.
Under [ Other Settings ] you can change that the Flip Flop Torches change their status if they're powered (true) or if they're unpowered (false).
Under [ Enabled Torches ] you can enable (true) or disable (false) specific torches, so if you don't need all of the torches you can disable unwanted ones. They don't waste IDs if disabled!
Any conflicts with the Mod? Try these steps:
a ) Make sure you deleted the META-INF folder!
b ) Try a different data value, if you have other mods installed! More about this see above.
c ) Try to delete the config.txt.
d ) Try to reinstall the mod. Use your backup of the minecraft.jar.
e ) Appears an error log? Post it in the forum. I'll try to help you! If you don’t get an error log or it’s gone too fast, run Minecraft in the console or post the ModLoader.txt in your .minecraft directory (if it crashes upon start).
If you don't get an error report and in the ModLoader.txt aren't any crash report either, use this:

Okay, I've updated it to 1.0_01. It's a minor update that remove a spelling mistake in the achivement "Enhanced Mining" and adds a new configuration value to the ID_cfg.txt, called "< ACHIEVEMENTS ACTIVE >".
For the old version of this file, jut delete your file and start minecraft or add this 2 lines below in this file:
If you want to completely disable the achievements of this mod, change the value under "< ACHIEVEMENTS ACTIVE >" from true to false and to reenable the achievements, change the value from false to true.

I think about, that you can disable the Achievements completely in the config file to avoid conflicts with mods that has a bunch of achievements.
For the old version of this file, jut delete your file and start minecraft or add this 2 lines below in this file:
the complete file should looks like this:
If you want to completely disable the achievements of this mod, change the value under "< ACHIEVEMENTS ACTIVE >" from true to false and to reenable the achievements, change the value from false to true.
Have a nice day, everybody!
Thx, I'm working on my skills. ^^ Look at my Cacao Tree Mod, I will update it soon with new content :biggrin.gif:
What problems do you have?
What resolution has your currently texture pack?Looking the torches correct when you use the default texture pack?Torch is off
You push button
as soon as the power goes on, the torch goes on
power goes off, torch is still on
It's currently set up so the power needs to go on and off to be set on/off.
I think it's possible. I try it out.
