Hello I am NoMercyPro,
I want to make a new mod that adds animals and biomes!
One problem.... I DONT KNOW HOW TO
I googled how to and all of it is just junk.
I want my mod to have animals that drop things or attack you and maybe even be in the End or Nether!
I just don't know how to.
I also want to add some items for special animals.
Like certain furs used for crafting or even stuff you can place for decorations.
Please help me!
Making a mod isn't simple. You need to know how to code with java and be familiar with Minecraft's code. If you don't know how to code with java there really isn't much you can do, sorry. also, this is in the wrong section.
and tip: don't make anything that isn't modloader compatible or is just a simple tweak if it doesn't use modloaders APIs
also adding items is great but don't go nuts if you expect people to use your mod. if you add a lot of blocks and items you will need to make it forge compatible. people tend to have a lot of mods already installed so making one that adds anough items or blocks to take up every darn available one will result in people not giving up the mods they love to use yours.
also making it have an editable config file for change block/item ids helps for mod incompatibilities
i know im not giving a lot while requiring a lot from you but these tips are just to help you know what to expect from the modding community
oh and making ai script for mobs doesn't sound like a walk in the park so you might want to get a java decompiler and check out how mods like mocreatures and more creep and weirdos does it.
Step 1: Calm down.
Step 2: Spend 1 year learning Java
Step 3: Decompile Minecraft
Step 4: Make first mod without modloader
Step 5: Burn that mod
Step 6: Put modloader in minecraft and decompile
Step 7: Make modloader mod
Step 8: Publish it then burn it
Step 9: Put Forge into your minecraft.jar and decompile
Step 10: Make mod using forge
Step 11: $$$$$$?
Step 12: Have intentions of making love to female dogs
1. Wrong Section. This goes in modding discussion.
2. Learn java.
3. Get MCP
4. Learn Minecraft's Variables and other required aspects.
5. Learn how to use ModLoader with MCP, and Forge for Infinite sprite IDs and maximum compatibility.
6. ???
7. Profit
1. wrong section. Go to Modding, not mods.
2. learn on how to code in java
3. Get your MCP (minecraft coder pack)
4. decompile, learn the variables.
5. make mod
6. burn it, get modloader. put in minecraft.jer
7. decompile with modloader
8. make modloader mod
9. ???
10. Profit!!!
