Hello, i was recently playing minecraft 1.9 with my friend, we were in a ravine, and i went to a mineshaft, found a minecart with a chest, took the items and broke the minecart, but instead of normal minecart i've got this (as shown in the image) is this a bug of some sort or what ?
The wiki page seems to imply this was fixed in 1.9.1, although I have no idea what's going on with all the changes after 1.3 being colored and listed as "unknown" so perhaps it's not accurate?
"Extreme typos in minecarts with hoppers and chests, reading "container.minecart'' have been fixed."
It doesn't say when it started. I think I noticed the same thing in a 1.8.9 world I was playing a while ago, but I might be mistaken. Unless the issue literally only affected 1.9 though, then 1.8.9 is close enough to where I might be remembering correctly.

Is this bug rare or is it normall for this version ?
I have no idea (I've never played on 1.9 or any version later than 1.6.4) but the sheer number of duplicate reports/watchers/votes suggests it was very common, if not always happening, due to a bug in the code that applies a custom entity name to dropped items (that is, normally you rename an item with the anvil to give it a custom name, otherwise it uses the default name but the game was applying this name, or its translation string, as if it were a custom name, which is not translated, thus the weird name).

If you're having performance concerns with Minecraft, I hope this may prove useful.
A retrospective of the most important game to me (or, a try to stay awake while I never stop talking about something challenge).
According to the official bug tracker this was a bug in 1.9 and 1.10, specifically 16w03a (first reported) through 16w32a (exclusive):
MC-95922 Destroyed dropped Minecart items use entity name
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
WOw, thanks for your replies
