It makes me feel insecure, haha. I love building as one of my top three things, but I'm not especially skilled at it. Or at least, my style is rather simplistic, but I tend to like it that way sometimes. This is sort of simplistic (in a good way) as opposed to be gradients tossed everywhere for the sake of it.
I have a hardcore world on hold, and the long term goal of that is exploration and mapping (on foot). Every so often, I need new outposts to launch these explorations from. I have the world on hold, but when I return, I need to make a new location. I had a few ideas in mind before I stopped, but seeing this makes me sort of want to do something like this. Something that isn't overly tiny (because I want it to be nice and big enough), but something that doesn't require massive commitment, either. As a bonus, my chosen location is in a field so this already fits, haha. I might not copy it exactly (in fact, I likely won't), but I might use it an inspiration to try and near-mimic it.
When I get back to playing that world (a ways off), I'll have to search for this post of mine.
It's an excellent build. I like the small intricate details on the front with the acacia wood; I find this to be the most challenging part of building a better-than-decent-looking house.
I think it looks good. And I love, both from a play and aesthetic viewpoint, that you have a useful farm for a yard instead of a mulch farm (grass lawn).

Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
Better Forests Varied and beautiful trees and forests, in modern Minecraft.
Thank you! I like the practicality of the building more than its decoration. I like to use every block of free space to its best advantage, but many people won't appreciate that.

Admittedly, that would be me, but I'd say I'm in the minority here.
My builds tend to be less practical and efficient indoors. I don't fill up space as much as I like roomier designs, even if it means more running around to stuff that is sometimes very spread out (sometimes in different buildings entirely). I'll sometimes put different things in different buildings specifically because it's gives a village a wider purpose. If I make a home a "base" that has everything in in it, multiple times so that I'm never exploring or living in my wider location, it diminished the experience for me. But this approach isn't for everything as you need to build more and spend more repetitive time accomplishing things.
If I mimic something like this, it will probably be loosely and only in overall shape/exterior. The interior would definitely drastically differ. Not because I think you did bad there; to the contrary, the approach you took probably works better for most people.
Hi! I built the Ultimate Survival House and published a tutorial on how to build it!

Just in spacious buildings, I feel like I'm in a big box without an interior. I don't know how to fill large rooms.
