Hi fairly new to minecraft - playing on my android Samsung - so pocket edition?
I've been trying to make a trap to catch zombies, skeletons and creepers using trapdoors and a large pit.
I have a doorway with 6 trapdoors (3wide2deep) in front of the gate, but so far they all just walk right on to it without them opening.
Do I need something extra like pressure pads or redstone powder or something?
All the tutorials I see online just say you can use them to trap monsters and that's it. And any video tutorials are always of more complicated setups.
I think, correct me if I'm understanding this wrong, you're keeping them closed, you need to open them manually and then the mobs will try to walk across and fall down.

You can open Trapdoors with Redstone power sources, such as Pressure Plates.
Mobs will think that an open Trapdoor is the same as a solid block though, although it is physically not; so, when they step on what they think is a solid area, they instead fall. This is used in a lot of contraption designs to trick mobs into falling into pits, etc.

Can someone help me get this working?
Thanks

Thank you!
I thought the idea with a trap door was that it looks closed so it tricks things into stepping on it, then it opens.
Glad I got there anyway, that was driving me crazy for a bit 🙂
