The Voided Lands Map (1.19.1, 1.18.2) is a survival map designed by M2HB. This map is based on the original skyblock map, only a little different! The Voided Lands was meant to be an expansion with the same goal as the original one: You build your life and complete different goals while facing the challenges of limited resources. Around the map, you will find the traditional sky island and a floating house with many resources that will be beneficial for your journey!
You can use scutes to craft an helmet for extra 10 seconds of air underwater you can also use respiration enchantment on helmets to give the same effect but it wont be just 10 seconds, level 1 respiration it will be 15 seconds and level 3 it will 60 seconds thats a full minute! According to wiki a scute drops as soon as an baby turtle grows to an adult stage

You can crouch on Magma Blocks to regain air bubbles, too. A Helmet with Aqua Affinity and Respiration III, alongside Boots with Depth Strider III is about as close as you can get to a diving suit in Minecraft.

Devout 1.6.4 player, since 2013.
Long-Term World 1 March 22nd, 2013 – 2016; Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.6.1 – 0.15.7 Long-Term World 2 2018 – 2019; Minecraft for Windows 10 1.2.11 – 1.12.0 Long-Term World 3 February 15th, 2020 – Present, keeping this world for as long as possible; Minecraft: Java Edition 1.6.4
I play in the long-term, where most of my projects take a long time:
End Mining Project (Mine the entire End): 6 months
2km Long Overworld Rail From Spawn to Base: 2 months
Base Expansion Project: 1-2 months (estimate) (ongoing)
Combine the suggestions listed above, and use an empty bucket in your head's block for emergencies (it will only buy you a split second at a time though).

They get waterlogged, so they're not exactly the air havens they used to be.

I don't think you can do that, but you can use Water Breathing potion!

You can still place doors on the ocean floor though.

Huh, that's a recent change then, shipwreck doors always have air bubbles in them as far as I recall

Yep, I remember using doors to explore monuments as recent as 1.17.
You can also place down sugar cane for an air column to step into.
