I have a problem. I have a minecraft server with a dedicated ip adress. A little while ago (2 months) a big part of my house had burned down, but i built it back up. Today when i logged in i saw my house burning again.. Fortunately i was able to stop the fire, but many of my chests had burned down... I used spectator mode to see if there was any lavalakes or something, but ther is non. Any clue what causes this? It is in a junglebiome btw
I have dirt covered roof, maybe someone has logged on to the server since i forgot to turn on whitelist... All my loot is now gone and my two villagers:/
Your chests shouldn't have burned, since as far as I know, Minecraft chests are fire and lava proof. If your chests are gone, then either someone manually broke them or they blew up from a creeper or TNT.
You can light a Crafting Table on fire, and it'll be on fire, but it won't ever actually burn down and get destroyed. Inflammable blocks can be lit on fire, but they cannot be damaged by fire.

Lightning will set fires but I think only if someone is nearby to load the chunks.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.

Lightning can set fire to inflammable blocks. Given that you have looked for lava, lightning seems like the most obvious explanation.
