I just recently started getting familiar with the nether, however one thing that really annoys me are blazes,They are extremely hard to kill, deal a crazy amount of damage, set you on fire, and dont make me mention how hard it is to get to a nether fortress in the first place (especially for a newer player like me).So i am curious, what is the best way to kill blazes and not die 50 times trying to kill them?
Okay, so first you 100% need at least 2 shields but preferably 3. Also be sure to bring multiple fire resistance potions which you can get easily from trading with piglins. Also, when you get to the blaze spawner make sure to block off the top so they can’t float away and just snipe you. And to find a fortress most easily, travel on the east/west axis. Good luck!
Strongly suggested before you go for a fortress is to develop a village and get hold of some decent armor/weapons with enchantments. A Power V / Infinity bow is indispensable. A shield also helps a lot. Also, consider bringing a sharpness axe. Fighting blazes in fortress corridors, you don't want zombie piglins accidentally caught in sword sweep.
That said, the whole blaze thing falls into 4 parts:
1. Approaching the fortress. Can be the worst part. If the fortress is out in the open over lava, blazes will spawn over it and snipe you from huge distance. Try to circle around and approach from a side where fortress blends into landmass. If you have to bridge over to fortess, you can use pistons to create a bridge without exposing yourself. The bridge will be going 1 block up for about every 12 so plan accordingly. Build 2-block high sidewalls.
2. On the open 'outside' section of fortress. Not a good place to be. You generally want to get into fortress interior asap. But while on parapets, it is a good idea to build 2 block tall pillars every 10-12 blocks. This gives you cover to duck behind and breaks blazes line of sight. Fighting blazes here is often a waste since most of the time they are floating around and their drops will usually fall into lava.
3. Fortress interior. This is where you want to be. This is where chests are, this is where you can find netherwart.. Build horizontal bars two blocks off ground. Those help you fight wither skeletons, and also blazes will often float up when aggro. If there is a bar between you and blaze, it will lose line of sight. You can often rush in and swing at it's 'feet' Generally, a couple stacks of cobble or other similar block is your best weapon here.
4. Blaze spawners. Remember, you gotta be within 16 blocks for them to activate, If you see a tell-tale tower with fences sitting out in the open, my advice is to just avoid it for now. Keep 16+ blocks distance. When exploring 'buried' parts of fortress, you may come across a spawner balcony fully encased in netherrack, That is much better. I personally suggest blocking the entrance off but leaving a half-block gap. Any blazes that float down the stairs, you can take out safely through this gap.
While in Nether, be on lookout for magma cubes, and get all the cream you can get. Once you got some blaze rods and netherwart, retreat to overworld, and brew up some 8-minute fire resist potions. With this effect, blaze fireballs do zip to you. And you can literally walk up to a spawner and just kill them wholesale. They will put out a bit of melee damage, but nothing remotely dangerous.

I agree a lot with what scorrp10 said. Generally when looking for a good blaze spawner, I look for one that is completely surrounded with netherrack. It helps if the hall way is a tunnel too, that way you can step around a corner out of line of sight, they dont follow you. If you are at an intersection, you can block off the paths around you so other mobs and stray blazes dont attack you from behind or something. I usually bring a Power 5 bow, and lots of arrows, and lots of food. I avoid attacking with swords, because then you are so close, when they shoot its hard to dodge the flames. With an bow you can be far enough away to step behind a corner or wall for protection.
