Hey, so I've been playing in a hardcore world for a while now. I have beaten the ender dragon, gotten an elytra and built a very efficient raid farm.
Long story short, my world corrupted cause i downloaded a texture pack, and i lost all my items. I panicked, went into creative to just give myself my sword back, but regretted my decision. I havde already thrown away the sword, but i still feel like i cheated.
So i came up with this idea. What if i get punished in some way, so the fact that i was in creative actually negatively affected me. Then i don't think i would feel like i had cheated.
So, do you have an idea for a punishment? (could be anything and as harsh or mild as you'd like. Such as throwing a lot of diamonds into lava.)
P.S. I'm sorry if I made any spelling mistakes. As you can probably tell, english isn't my first language.
I don't think punishment is warranted at all - what you did is no different from restoring a backup in case of world corruption, as long as you gave yourself the exact items that you lost (for example, replacing a sword with Sharpness IV with Sharpness V and/or additional enchantments would be unfair, you could even go further and say that the durability/anvil work must be the same). Just because the world is hardcore doesn't mean it should be exempt from data recovery, all it means is that you have to delete the world if you legitimately die (yes, legitimately, so I'd consider a death due to a bug to not count).
Thank you so much for the reply. I have reconsidered as a result, but since i don't really like going into creative i have decided to just get my items back "legit". Honestly this could be considered a punishment in itself, so i think that everything is fair and square now :D.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
