I'm not sure how I should build my base in the nether. I'm not talking about a nether hub. I'm thinking of putting my nether hub above the base. Any suggestions? Also some pictures of your nether base would help
You could try copying the style of some Fire Nation buildings from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The update is going to be introducing tons of (far overdue) quality black blocks, stairs, and slabs to build with, so it's the perfect time to give it a go, not to mention a Fire Nation palace in the Nether is hilariously on the nose.
I plan to do this as well, probably in the new volcanic ash biome.
I recommend not putting your base in the nether. Ghasts can destroy pretty much most of the blocks in the game, and you cant use water streams for automated storage systems which is a cheaper alternative to using a giant hopper line. You don't have any connection to the overworld where the most essential resources are located. You cant really have farms in your base (which is what I like to have) like sugar cane farms to make rockets. You can't have a gunpowder farm nearby and you cant have automated villager breeders either. If you want to build your base in the nether go for it, I wouldn't recommend it. Sure, you have a portal to the over world but isn't it easier to just be in the overworld in the first place?
My base in the Nether has a portal in it that goes direct to an Overworld outpost i'm working on which will contain farms i cant build in the nether, So i'm always just a portal jump away from resources.
