Hi! I’m new to the forum and need some help with a build. I’m building a haunted mansion using dark oak wood with purple and black windows. I’m using stone brick for the roof. Any suggestions for the floor?
Fill it in with blocks of black wool. Another idea would be acacia logs on side for a grey stripe, you can alternate direction on these for a tiled look. Dark oak trapdoors set at block top level gives a nice look.
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Forests, snowy forests
I would personally use spruce planks for the floors. They are slightly lighter than dark oak but still dark enough to keep with the theme.
They also make a nice "wood" foot steps when walking on them.
You could use carpets here and there for extra detail and coloring.
You should also check out some youtube videos on how to craft furniture. Its amazing how much details you can make with staircases, slabs, trap doors and sign posts.
Also use lanterns and paintings for decoration.
Add depth to the outside of your mansion ,dont just make a wall with windows, same goes for your roof top as well as the interior. If your ceiling is high use wood logs as grids and such.

I don't like giving too much info about the seeds i share. I feel like its better to let others explore and find out the chest contents, dungeon places and biomes. If someone is giving me a gift i would rather not know what it is until i open it for my self.
You're in survival so my initial suggestion of alternating coal blocks and obsidian (the latter has purple details, so it would look great with purple glass for the windows) is a bit expensive, unless the floor isn't very large. You can try it in creative and see if it's worth the effort.
For a survival friendly floor, which also keeps the wooden theme I would use dark oak logs in a pattern with the stripped version and see if it's good enough. You can have dark oak logs beams and stripped for everything else or some kind of geometric pattern (a checkerboard, concentric frames, stripes, you know what you like best).
