Hello! I made a world on 1.14.4 the other day and decided to go look for fish. I was looking for a coral reef but stumbled upon a lukewarm ocean, and I know fish sometimes spawn there too. However, there was absolutely no fish anywhere. Not even squid or dolphin. I went another 1k blocks and found another lukewarm ocean, but also no fish. I had this same issue a little while back when I did 1.14.4 on a multiplayer server and found a coral reef, and there was no fish.
I've come across fish more in rivers than in the ocean which I always found to be nice but awkward when you see the ocean and sometimes see fish but many times I've looked I find none, just far stretches of ocean to fill in on my map. In Java and Bedrock.

Yea but I'm looking for tropical fish like Pufferfish. I also live in a Village and I'm scared to go back to like 1.14.0 incase I lose my village because I don't remember when the new villager update was added.
That is never open a world in an earlier version of Minecraft than it was last played in.
If there were any changes to how the world is stored the earlier version won't recognize the changes and chances are it will decide there are corrupted chunks, deleate them and regenerate them and everything you've built will be gone..
It might work within the same major update, 1.14.4 to 1.14 for instance but you should test it on a backup.
Basically, I ended up going into 1.14 and making a new world. Fish, Dolphins & Squid where spawning regularly. So, I then decided to just make a copy of my original world so I'd still have the village I lived in. I ended up flying about 3k blocks and found a coral reef, made a new base, and now have tons of fish. I think my world was corrupt or something and fish just weren't spawning, or 1.14.4 is bugged.

You should basically never take a world back.

Just testing.
