I really like the design of the treehouse. I haven't built anything in any jungle biome yet. When I do, it will probably be a treehouse because I can make them way off the ground. I can't wait!
What are you going to do with the hole? I would never have enough patience to dig all that!
If you have an efficiency 5 pick and a haste 2 beacon, digging holes that big isn't a problem. Now that you speak of it, a friend on Makocraftwho's doing something quite similar, but instead of digging the ores up hes letting them float in mid air, hes also making 2 witchfarms, he'll post something on reddit about it when finished.

Thanks! Just remember: if you build in Survival mode, you can't fall off an edge if you're in sneak mode. I didn't think about that when I was building my Xbox treehouse and dang, I did a lot of falling.
My original Xbox treehouse was inspired by me having a tons of jungle wood from clearing out some jungle (in Xbox seeds, we still don't have the new biomes so we can end up with lots and lots of jungle) and needed to use it for something. So it was just jungle wood planks and slabs, oak wood fences, ladders and some glass blocks for skylights. Very economical for Survival. In this version I threw in some dark oak for accents since my first house in the world is a hop and a skip from a roofed forest and I went crazy collecting some dark oak for future projects (I'm a bit obsessive with collecting ALL THE WOODZ in Survival mode because I hate having to stop and go find some specific type of wood when I'm building).
Lost 4 diamonds when i fell in lava lol and thats basically an hours worth of mining all burned up
I hate that. I'm neurotic about whenever I get some diamonds, immediately going back to my mining base and putting them in a chest so if I die I don't lose them. I've lost too much stuff to lava.

Well, I figured out I did have a pretty good amount of patience when I dug out a 100x100x2 area at levels 10 and 11. I also used an Efficiency V Pick and a beacon with Haste 2. And also, could you send me a link whenever he posts it on Reddit?

This is Durandal799's fault. I saw his decorative wheat fields in another thread. So next to my stable I am adding a windmill and my own custom landscaped decorative wheat fields.

Granted I do have a ton of obsidian from a couple of lava pools around my treehouse that I removed...but I don't have anything to make Eyes of Ender with at the moment.
When I spawned in my current world I was surrounged by about 8 wolves. Haven't seen any since because I havent been in the right biomes for them. I need to go find some.
Haven't done much today, just worked on a small underground stable to store my horses.
Also did some exploring with Mechanan. Found a lovely lake and a mesa.
Nice find! I love mesas, especilly with bodies of water in them.
Today's the last day of my holiday so I did get a lot done, although not everything I wanted to with the tree house project.
I moved the three best horses I was able to find near my plains house (my starter house in this world) to Last Resort Stables (still haven't found any donkeys in this world, so I will import my favorites from my other worlds). Everyone say hello to Roanoke, Calyspo and Gingerbread!
Then I decided I needed a break from building, so I took Calyspo and headed to the closest desert village to get seeds, carrots and potatoes for my treehouse's farm and spent for a couple of nights there just to KILL THINGS, mainly to get XP for enchanting, and to collect string and bones. Got catapulted into the air when two creepers exploded next to me at the same time--that was fun--and got turned into a pincushion a few dozen times. Decided that needed to be my avatar so I had to try a few times to get a good screenshot of me as a pincushion--and of course some dumb zombie tries to photobomb me.
When I got back to Last Resort, I decided I needed to do something with all the obsidian I have from the lava lakes I had to remove, and so now Last Resort Stables doesn't just sale hay and repair tack--it has a Nether portal too!
Unfortunately, where it opens up in the Nether is a very bad spot--a high cliff overhanging the big lava pool, which I fell off running away from 2 ghasts... So when I respawned I had to make a fast bunker, and thankfully the ghasts left me alone while I collected some netherrack to make some nether brick to finish the bunker.
I got some glowstone too and used it to light up the big pond next to the treehouse by hiding it in the leaf blocks in the trees and shrubs. Creates a nice ambience;
Then the last thing I did today was get my farm started finally. I decided i liked the glowstone-lit big pond too much to use that for the farm so I used another, smaller pond behind the treehouse. Worked out fine. Next I need to build a chicken pen and round up some of the chickens running around there to get eggs so I can make some pumpkin pie.
I got a lot of Minecrafting done this holiday weekend. I'm happy. Pity i can't spend this much time with MC every weekend.
Yes, those trees can be player-grown, using 2x2 oak saplings, and reach up to nearly 70 blocks high and contain up to 500 logs or more (although would be tedious to actually cut down for wood as many of the logs are scattered throughout the leaves); I previously posted about finding a forest of these trees.
Also, here's a look at the maps I've made so far (level-3, 1024x1024 blocks), although I didn't bother making sure they didn't overlap; all of what you see is what I've explored by caving (maps make it easy to stay within a cave system until I've finished exploring it):
In addition, I found a stronghold without using Eyes of Ender (I did use them for the first one):
(interesting tidbit: the stronghold generator intentionally ignores air when making walls; with a minor change I made them always generate walls like other structures and the inside parts; a common misconception is that caves cut through them but caves generate first and can't remove stone bricks in any case)
I also came across this glitched water spring in a ravine:
I started a new survival world and spawned on a nice little island with few trees and some grass for seeds. Mined for a bit to get stone stuff and a iron sword, then took off from the island. Found a large mesa, only land I've seen in a while and decided to set up base. Got a nice base going on, find abandoned mine shaft and lots of iron when mining.. I only lack animals, but no worries I got food cause I got a carrot and a potato from zombies.. All that good stuff.
Now, I need leather for books, so I set off with my boats into the horizon. Finally find island with two cows and two chicken. Set up temporary farm to breed cows and harvest leather. While breeding the cows I hear *thump* and a *TSssssssssss* behind me.
All animals dead.
I soooo hate creepers. This is why. Can you patch up the terrain, remove any fences or other blocks you placed, and make sure some grass grows back? Maybe then more will spawn? (I'm not sure--I'm confused about how animals spawn in PC vers having played Xbox so much lately and animals spawn like crazy in Xbox.)

Did you need to do anything else, or did you just plant four oak saplings 2x2?
I started an iron golem war. As iron golems are aligned per village, making them accidentally harm villagers from another village causes the native iron golem to attack it, this causing a battle.
I recently made a snow manufacturing facility for my enderman farm I am planning to build. It has 4 state-of-the-art snowmen snowgathering machines. I am planning to put some windows in it and thus it will be finished.

You need to have my mod installed, of course; I also made it so that trees grow depending on the biome you are in, so that a 2x2 of oak saplings can actually grow into two different types of tree (one is similar to a regular big oak tree but bigger with a 2x2 trunk and only grows in Big Oak Forest biomes, otherwise grow as the trees I grew), same for other types (e.g. small jungle trees grow with vines and cocoa pods in jungles, regular oak trees grow as swamp trees in swamps, spruce trees grow into both variants in taigas), making it possible to replace naturally generated trees.
Started working on the floor of my building, currently deciding what color glass I want to use, black is the easiest to look through but I think red or white would look better with the floor. I plan to try out orange and yellow later to see how they look.
