I terraformed the land my self using World Edit before building. (I'm not ready for sniper yet.)
The builds themselves were in creative mode.
This was almost a month ago.
Reason: I was bored and wanted to make a town.
On my Tekkit server -
I dug the land out away from a small grassy knoll with lots and lots of trees. It's fairly flat in that area, usually only elevates about 3 or 4 blocks. The whole region is very nice.
From there I began a farm, a storage building, and a friend built the home.
We added roads, and a warehouse for our machines.
There is a beacon for a mine and a skeleton spawner in the distance.
It's quaint and humble. It took about two days to get to this point.
This was the past two days, we're no where near complete.
If you're interested in the server, check my signature. I will host three servers total soon.
Tekkit is my only server running fully live right now as we are waiting for 1.3.
Random terraforming I did -
This is a mountain scene I created with World Edit and creative mode.
Reason: To create a background for a forum I've been working on for the Dokucraft community.
I'm also a very, very big fan of Dokucraft if you haven't noticed already.
In turn, a big fan of FyreUK if you couldn't tell from the first set of images.
I'm currently using this image as my desktop background as well.
You may download and redistribute this image if you wish, though I'd appreciate credit as I did make it myself. If you want the full 1080p version message me about it.
Mods installed in this scene specifically are-
Optifine, Sonic Ether's Shaders Mod (Ultra with grass waves, no leaves waving), Camera studio, Minema, ReisMinimap, Singleplayer commands, and World Edit.
There is a mob located on the bottom right side of the scene; it is a creeper!
The map save that this is located on was created in WorldPainter! Check it out, it's a great program!
The texture pack is the FyrueUK custom creative pack, revamped by me with collected textures (not my own) to make it more suitable for survival mode. The clouds are also changed into default, because those are the best clouds. In some screens I'm using a shaders mod, some I'm not. In some screens my fog is closer to the player than in other screens. This is because I some times change the fog distance for aesthetic reasons.
Thanks for checking my stuff out! Hope you like it!
I did some improvements on my underground base in my Direwolf20 mods world. First I drained my IC2 storage devices of all their EU in preparation for dismantling them and renovating my base.
Then I dismantled all the machines and disconnected the power from my solar arrays and nuclear reactor. I also moved the wireless receiver that controlled the reactor to another area I wasn't going to be modifying.
I then moved the floors down one layer by using WorldEdit, and changed them and the walls to marble brick (a block which is part of Redpower2).
I then used that mod's support frames and frame motors to move all my chests down one level, as well as a few Forestry blocks (the Analyzer - a stationary version of the Beealyzer used in the beekeeping part of the mod), and some EE2 blocks (my collector arrays). Some of the array components did not move, so I had to rebuild them manually,
Then I moved my MFS Unit (an IC2 block which store 10,000,000 EU) into my base, hooked up a medium voltage transformer to it, then all my machines to the transformer output. I set up a second MFS Unit I had in a chest, which I dedicated for use by my teleporter only. Of course that is not yet in operation as I do not have a destination teleporter set up. Those are also IC2 blocks.
I also did some work in my Thaumatorium, replacing all my torches with purple Lumar lights (another item in Redpower2), rearranged one of my Vis conduit - infuser setups, adding an extra 2 purifiers to control Taint, and then made a Tainted crystal farm. Taint is like negative energy in Thaumcraft2 - too much of it and it cam spread like Gray Goo. Zerg creep is another way of thinking of it. Taint infects every block it comes in contact with when it spreads, and most animals, plus villagers and creepers can become Tainted as well.
Lastly I found a place on the edge of a forest for some of my bees, as they don't like swampland any more since Forestry was updated. I made a building out of marble bricks again, using white Lumar lights inside it. The celing is glass, which is OK with the bees.
My experience is that it's very boring in the beginning, I've only played two worlds in two years. Maybe if you invest some time and build a good base with farms and stuff it will be fun.
I find to be the opposite. xD I will start fresh, then once I'm good and settled; I want to start over. It seems so exciting to me. Well... used to be. Now days you regen health and can find food while pooping. So it's not as exciting as it used to be.. :/
I started a nomad survival adventure and I am keeping a photo album-diary of the journey. Images at http://rickclark.imgur.com/. I post an image when I find something interesting. There are a hand-full up now of some of the sights and more will follow.
