Man, those Creepers can be Sneaky! I have one Spawn in the Nether, Right by the Portal when I came Thru...
I didn't have a Chance! I was Toast! (all the way down to the Lava I went... ) [sigh] (seems carrots do not work on the forum)
That's why you need to make sure your portals (in the Overworld) are secure - creepers do not spawn in the Nether unless you are using mods; that's also why it was right next to the portal since they can't move after going through one unless the chunks are loaded.
Meanwhile, this is pretty unbelievable:
Yes, two zombies with diamond armor (the first one is even enchanted), about half an hour apart, the second and third time I've seen this, but then I've killed more than 73,000 mobs so far, at least half of them zombies (not including other worlds I've had which probably doubles this). Ironically, not long ago I said this was probably the rarest thing in the game (I did see a pink sheep and charged creeper first, but only one of each so far). They didn't drop anything either - emphasizing the point I made about the usefulness of mob dropped equipment as you'll mostly get lower tiers (I only bother with helmets as I don't normally wear one; I was wearing a chain helmet I picked up at the time and just let them break, rarely I'll get another so I can combine them).
The chance of a mob having diamond armor are about one in 2,333, and this assumes they have any armor at all, which reaches a maximum of 15% (though I modded it to 20%, for zombies only), which results in about one in 15,500 (11,700) zombies/skeletons having diamond armor at the maximum regional difficulty (though 1.6.4, possibly through 1.7.10, seems to use a different difficulty scaling; in 1.8 mobs never spawn with armor on Easy, and even on Normal they have no armor until the regional difficulty gets high enough, while in 1.6.4 they have armor on Easy right from the start).
Based on this, I probably should have seen even more by now, although the regional difficulty never reaches its maximum in the chunks I explore; in fact, after looking at various areas even in the largest cave system I've explored so far the highest inhabited time I found was around 1,500,000, out of a maximum of 3,600,000 (about 21 hours out of 50; inhabited time appears to be based on a chunk being loaded, not a player actually being in a chunk, as I definitely didn't spend 21 hours in a single chunk; only around my main base has the inhabited time reached the maximum regional difficulty).
Really, all I've been doing is playing on creative. My main survival world was created in 2010, when the game was in alpha, but I've played so much on it that there kind of isn't much fun since I have overpowered gear and sword...
But I plan to start a new survival world. This one will certainly be better. I plan to do many builds on it and hopefully it will work out
If anyone is wondering, a good resource pack to play with would be Dokucraft. Amazing stuff, trust me.

I prefer some pack relative to Doku, but for me, it's Defscape, Halcyon Days, default(DUH), or some random pack I've never used before. I am probably gonna start a new world and use Dokucraft since you say it's amazing, maybe.

Well, that's just my opinion. Different people have different tastes. I find it to be a spectacular continuation to Doku's original dokucraft, just by the community. You Choose!
Ha, yeah, Etho is great. I am really enoying his new series with his personal modpack and I hope he will do a series on the Hermitcraft FTB Infinity server. I saw Biffa's stream where he was a guest and loved watching him go after Topmass. There are a couple other Mindcrack LPers who were invited onto that server--thejims (?) and someone else--but I don't know if they're doing series on that server yet. Of the Mindcrack crowd, I really only watch Etho. I really prefer LPers with smaller audiences. Etho seems to be a rare one in that he hasn't turned into an obnoxious joke of himself like a lot of really sucessful, longtime LPers do.

Yeah, or hasn't gotten bored. After a certain time a lot of big Youtubers get bored, and make videos just for the money. I won't say any names...but Etho is not one of them. He even said he doesn't get bored because of his series and how many un-complete projects he has on his vanilla world. I also love Etho's voice, super soothing--and he's not super crazy and hyped. He's calm, and is nice to watch.
The tunnel that I have that leads to my smeltery (as in smelteries from Tinker's Construct) room has been completed.
The smeltery room is multiple floors in height (each floor is 4m high with 2m thick floors between them) so I'll have plenty of vertical space to build huge smelteries in. A smeltery can only smelt as many single items as it has blocks of open space inside of it, meaning the the inside needs be a minimum of around 4x4x4 to smelt a full stack of ore at one time. Since I plan to have smelteries for some bulk items that will need to hold lots of molten materials, I need plenty of vertical space.
I built a pen for a chocobo (from ChocoCraft) and now have a chocobo. I plan to have a chocobo ranch at some point (I'll need to dig an access tunnel since I'll want it to be underground like the other facilities in my base; that means having a fairly gentle slope and somewhat high ceiling so that I don't constantly hit my head while going down into it). Once I have a chocobo ranch, I'll be able to try to breed golden chocobos (which requires lots of time-consuming breeding) and thus be able to fly around (and generally travel really fast since golden chocobos also run faster than most other breeds).
I built a room for drying racks (from Tinker's Construct) so I can now make jerky from meat. I'm thinking of expanding it with drying racks that extend out from the walls, but that will require figuring out how those are placed.
That's the story thus far!

Exactly. His videos are about his enthusiasm about Minecraft, not his personality. Plus, he likes a lot of the same things in Minecraft that I do so since I don't have a PC at the moment that can run Minecraft, it's like I can play PC Minecraft vicariously through his videos.
Anyhow, in MCPE this morning I did a bunch of mining and got 3 stacks of iron, 7 stacks of coal, 18 diamonds, and a bunch lapis and gold. Then I sorted my wood supply into chests for each type of wood in the Blueberry's storage room to see what I was low on. And to make sure I had enough wood for any future projects I farmed an additional 12 stacks of acacia, 5 stacks of jungle, 4 stacks of birch, 6 stacks of oak, 20 stacks pf spruce and 14 stacks of dark oak. And then one of MCPE's "famous" and awesome update bugs kicked in and reset my game to the point where I saved before starting the mining trip earlier this morning. So all of those resources are all gone. Just gone. Yep.
Hard to believe Mojang charges money for this game sometimes, huh?

I hate it when games reset everything when a new update comes. That stinks. :|

It's not a reset from a game update. It's a bug in MCPE that I believe is due to lag in block and chunks updating in-game and when the lag gets really bad, the game crashes and resets to an earlier save. Lots of MCPE users are getting these crashes. Things that needs lots of block and chunk updates appear to trigger it--furnaces, minecarts, lots of mining, and in my case, traveling from one biome to a biome where I had planted a lot of tree saplings to farm. When the chunks with the saplings reloaded the game lagged out badly and reset to a save from hours before. Infuriating.

I really wonder how he managed to retain his interest in this game. He's been playing it for several years and still goes on.
I constantly read here player's asdmissions that they got bored or tired of the game.
I found a gigantic village many miles away from my home, so I'm making a gravel road to it, cutting through forests and swerving around mountains. Oh, and I found a donkey.
In MCPE I have been tempting fate by planting tons of trees. I chopped down a section of oak and birch forest near the Blueberry and replanted it all with acacia. It's in a plains biomes so acacia leaves are greener and I love how the leaf canaopy of acacia form so it's easy to walk through a forest of them. Then nearby, in the area where I farm my trees I've been farming jungle and birch to replace what I lost from the lag/glitch/bug-out the other day. i've been really good about sleeping or logging off regulalry and so far no more nasty crashes or resets-to-old-saves, although the lag from all those tree updates is real. I had to kill all my chickens in the chicken pit next to the tree farm to cut down on some of the lag. Sad the MCPE is now about as laggy as PC Minecraft
I had wandered around the savannah and desert at the end of the megatunnel looking for the mesa I had found in that seed in a creative world, and just couldn't find it. So I went back into that creative world and...yep, I made the tunnel go to the wrong desert. *sigh* The mesa is actually is in a diagonal line from the Blueberry so making a direct tunnel there isn't going ot happen, but I will try to zigzag new tunnel there. I have to go through the taiga near the Blueberry, another section of the Neverending Jungle of Woe, a forest biome, a new plains biome that looks promising for a build idea I have, and a pretty large desert. I suspect this tunnel will have to be even longer than the megatunnel. It'll be a superhypermegatunnel, I guess. So far, I'm halfway through the tiaga. LOL. It's going to take a lot of work, but tunneling is something I can do while I'm bored at work, or watching TV or YT/Twitch, and it's a good way to collect resources without branch mining myself into a stupor. Since I had nearly 4 stacks of diamond when I started this new tunnel, I am using diamond tools at least for the start (I mined the whole megatunnel with only stone and iron tools). It's helping make things go a little faster although MCPE still so badly needs potions and enchantments.
(This is all in survival for my LP)

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Good lord that's an awesome statue.
But I plan to start a new survival world. This one will certainly be better. I plan to do many builds on it and hopefully it will work out

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
