After reading over all the different challenges, I think I'll be beginning the Werewolf one.
Quick question before I start, as the rules kind of confused me, are you supposed to build everything in a cave? As in, no outside structures whatsoever?
I'm preety sure that unless it's categorized under cave it's above ground.Look at level 3 or higher if you haven't already.
Just wondering when the mod-pack is getting added to the server and if theres a definitive list now. Also if it has not already been mentioned the tree mod that destroys trees after cutting the bottom log would be great. As for the my northmen city, I've been getting on every now and then to work on it. The European challenge might still be stalled though since I don't have a lot of time.

I will be updating the server to 1.6.4 and there will be some other changes that will happen at the same time. Waiting for a couple work projects to settle down in RL so I can dedicate some time to getting things sorted. I have to be very careful about adding Mods to the server as it can cause other problems with plugins, especially if the mods don't have a server version. I have been looking at a few to enhance the experience not necessarily to change the game play too far from vanilla.
That being said, the new version of Minecraft makes some pretty significant changes so how that will be dealt with is going to be the biggest challenge.
The server has been quite lately but I'm guessing that is because of the new version out and everyone dealing with RL.
Guys... it was so quiet... both here and on the server...
I was looking into some stuff about making races more different, and so I went to some D&D thing and the main difference between the races is their size and stats. So some of the stats you can implement, like strength and agility, but others, like charisma, can't. So for example, in D&D elves get -2 to defense, which you can't do, and +2 to charisma, which you can't do in MC. Any ideas for how I can do stuff like that? Or maybe just come up with some ways to make the races a bit more different from each other than they already are?
And why do I keep noticing that this was posted on July 4th...?

Actually, you can make a player weaker in MC - you just have to use Status Effects. For example, if you counted -2 defence as taking more damage from an attack than a player with 0 defence, you could just give that (Elf) player a Resistance status effect, with a negative level i.e Resistance -II (This would increase damage taken by 40% on top of normal damage). As for charisma or something, you'd have to either find an analogous status effect in Minecraft, or just write it off as impossible to translate into the game.

Should give you all the info you could need. You can use Command Blocks to apply the effects, maybe hooked up to a timer to make sure that the effects stay permanent?

Angels are bright, though the brightest fell. Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace; Still grace must look so.
And by the way; Who is John Galt?
I'm having a go at the Elf challenge and just finished the first stage. I'll be sooo happy to move up to stone tools.
I'm building in very dense jungle - my first 3 houses are so close together that the 'hanging walkways' haven't materialized yet. Have also built a small wheat farm.
