Hey Guys, I decided to take on this challenge and I started yesterday and am finally finished the wooden age so i thought i would pop in and throw up a few updates.
First of all, i decided not to create the wooden wall because when looking through everyone's pictures it looked time consuming and pointless, so instead i shall build a larger stone wall in the stone age.
To start of the pictures is my keep, which took a long while to build, and a animal farm on the right, which will soon be divided into an actual farm containing each individual animal in a seperate space. The farm currently contains a chicken, 3 pigs, and 2 cows.
This is the inside of my keep, which holds some of my items, it will be turning into more of a welcoming room later on. This is also where my spawns lies, right in the middle ontop of the pumpkin i found while exploring
This is the top of my keep, it holds the bedroom which has yet to be furnished, and will soon contain a top storage floor because the bottom floor isn't very well suited for chests
This is the wheat farm, which will be automated once i get to the iron age and can get water buckets. It contains i think 16 wheat or so
Last but not least is my mandatory items to proceed to the stone age (WOOT:])

Wonderful keep but do you have a wall? Also, nice location for a castle.
I know this location is awesome, some mountains on the side and a nice big ocean behind.
About the wall though, like i said in my post, i thought it would be a little ridiculous to build a wood wall just to tear it down and build a brand new cobblestone wall, and to be completely honest i would probably half heartedly do it and build a small wall one square from my entrance just to tear it down lol. So i decided i would just scrap that idea and build the cobblewall in the stone age.

I missed that part. Sorry. However, you don't need to tear down the wooden wall. You could have just kept it as your future secondary wall and built the cobblestone wall around it as your main wall.

Yea I know that, but it looked ugly in most other people's builds so i decided to just not put it in, plus who would be secure inside a wooden wall ! lol
hey, itsa me! I started this challenge again because of how tightly packed my first castle was, I've learnt my lesson and wont make the same mistake. this time I'm in a pretty flat forest biome so getting wood is no problem at all. I've just finished the wooden age! here is what I got so far...
the inside of the walls
the keep
the cow farm
spawn point
the wheat farm
plus the tools, food, sapling and whatnot off I go to... *drum roll* the stone age!
This seems like a fun challenge, so I've decided to give it a try. I've completed the wooden age:
An overview of my area:
The Keep:
1st Floor (Spawn is the log in the middle):
2nd Floor:
Animal Pen:
Farm:
Wall/Gate(The gate isn't much yet, ill make it more elaborate when I have pistons available for use. Also, does the wall HAVE to be made entirely of logs? I realized after I made it that it said to make a wall of logs, not just a wooden one, so hopefully this is ok.):
Required items (The Diamonds, gold, and iron are from a desert temple that I looted. Thats also where the orange wool I used on the 1st floor came from):
Im glad to be moving on, it was really annoying only being able to use wooden tools >_<

Wow that's a really nice base you have going on there. I really like the detail you put into the wall, keep working on it and it seems like it'll be an excellent looking castle
While i'm doing this challenge, could anyone recommend me a texture pack that would look good with my current build so far, i've been thinking about using MonkeyFarm's edited JohnSmith pack but i'm not sure if it would look good with my build style.
If anyone has a recommendation that you think would look good with my build so far post and i'll try to get it into my world so my castle isn't standard and dull.
Yea I know that, but it looked ugly in most other people's builds so i decided to just not put it in, plus who would be secure inside a wooden wall ! lol
I don't know whether to be insulted by that...*looks at the improved but still partially wooden inner walls of his fortress*
Anyways, I feel pretty safe in my wooden wall...though I have two brick walls outside of it and my keep takes up most of the space inside the inner wall.
Hey! its me agin! I finished the stone age! check it out!
the whole kingdom so far
(those who have seen my first will know I just cant resist making a multi lever kingdom)
farm, complete with wheat, suggar cane, and coco beans. I woudlnt mind having potatos or carrots but I dont want to find an NPC village then get lost. I'll be making a compas in the iron age if I'm allowed
the main area
I wasn't sure what was meant by cortyard, so just incase a large grass area didnt cut it I also made this
(dont worry, I trimmed a tree that had grown, I didnt use shears to get leaf blocks)
upgraded cow farm
chicken farm
and last but not least the keep!
plus the treasure and item requierments, off I go to... the IRON AGE
I started this challenge a few days ago, and have been taking out chunks of it at a time. After working on building the wall for a few hours today (the last objective I needed), I finally finished the Wooden Age!
Here's an overview of my castle in its current state. I decided to be pretty basic with everything, as I didn't want to put a bunch of work into building things out of wood when I'd just turn around later and rebuild/reinforce it with stone.
Here's an example of my spider-proofing.
My current farms, wheat, potatoes, pumpkins, sugarcane, and my cow pens.
Here's the inside of my Keep. I plan on extending it with upper and lower floors and plenty of other goodies.
I realized a bit late that one of the requirements was to have your bed in a different room. This was my quick-fix solution.
I think I'm going to display treasure in item frames, I just like the way it looks.
...aaaaaand here are all the required materials.
Now I can finally use stone tools. ON TO THE STONE AGE!
Hey I already put my old world on this topic but sadly it got deleted by accident deleted whole file in minecraft. So I made new other world with all the Pics, also I completed Wooden Age in this Album http://imgur.com/a/F...mbed
Fairly new to minecraft, but I finally found a seed worth using for this challenge. I start about 20 blocks from a fairly large desert village (around 10 villagers) and 4 block from a forest biome. We shall see how it goes. I am going to try and incorporate the village into my castle.

If your bed gets destroyed, where do you respawn?
Exactly.

Thanks for this SteelFeathers, great way to get me back into Minecraft!
Oddly, my spawn point has moved... I need to die again to test it. :/
Edit: Question. Stone age:
-Redstone can be collected, but cannot be used in circuitry.
How do you collect it without iron?
Wish me luck, since i mostly can't do big stuff on minecraft.
