I decided to take on this challenge awhile ago, but only started yesterday. Made good progress and finished the Wood Age already.
I spawned in deep in a hilly, jungle biome on the edge of water, making the floor plan difficult. I have a lot of hacking and digging in my future as I increase in size. You can also see my farm and animal pens here. (Snapshot taken at the top of a jungle tree, just before I hacked it down.)
My treasure requirement. (A single sapling is rather trivial. I expected more.)
Materials requirement.
Spawn room. The log in the center is the spawn point. I was happy to discover jungle trees create a darker colored plank allowing me to have a parquet floor. I think I'll keep that detail as I progress through the ages.
Second room with bed. This will change significantly in later ages.
I look forward to taming the Stone Age! (And using stone tools, phew!)
Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention. I'm playing this on hardcore. No second chances!
I'm to lazy to take pictures at the moment and still need the 2nd guard tower. And if you play this challenge on hardcore, the spawn block is completely useless, not to be rude. But good luck not dieing on Hardcore Mode!

The spawn useless in hardcore? It is the point from which life itself poured forth into the frail shell of my blocky body! To lose that most precious of gifts would be a travesty! Should I continue my pathetic existence after having allowed it to drain away through neglect, stupidity, or carelessness? No, I say! I will return to the sweet darkness of oblivion instead!
But seriously. The spawn has as much use in hardcore as it does in a standard game after you sleep in a bed. The point of the challenge is to protect the point of origin, not the point where you will respawn. Otherwise the rules would outlaw beds and sleeping, which they do not.
At any rate, I wanted to add an extra level of difficulty to this and the decision has gotten my heart racing twice. Once when a creeper snuck up behind me while I was hacking away jungle brush and reduced me to a single heart, and once when my newly tamed cat almost pushed me off the top of a jungle tree.
If I hadn't been in hardcore, neither event would have meant very much. Instead, these made survival a very real, and very urgent, priority.
Completed the Stone Age. had to clear a lot of jungle, but not as much as I will for Iron Age. (*Another* wall? Really?)
Here you can see the keep, guard tower, and court yard. As soon as I get a bucket, there will be water in the fountain.
Here's my treasure and materials. I'm using a single chest for all the treasure, since there isn't much of it.
My store room and workshop.
Bedroom on the second floor. It's sparse now, but I'll be enhancing it later.
The spawn room, upgraded from wood.
The mine shaft. I managed to dig all the way to bedrock without hitting a cave.
I think this challenge is really well thought out and done. Kudos! I'm backlogged on my challenges right now but when I get a chance, I'm going to go for it.
You don't have to build another wall, you can simply enhance the one you've got, as long as there's enough place for the building required inside...
Nice job, btw!
The requirements for Iron Age specify a 5m tall, 2m wide main wall around your keep and _inner wall_. Regardless, I've already planned for it and have cleared the land, so I'm not going to change it now.
The Stone Age.
Give me feedback on my buildings please
Any requests for buildings will most likely be built.
And now, to get rid of all that redstone in my mineshaft xD.
On a more serious note, more saplings should be required, considering the fact that it is the WOOD Age, where you have to cut down loads of trees anyways. Other than that, I'm planning out my keep and soon the walls. I'll post up some pics once I'm ready to progress onto the Stone Age
Looks like such a fun challenge but I would get bored playing alone, Would anyone be interested in doing this on a server? It would be all legit and we would double the resources needed. Please dont hate that Im in the survival forum, I want to do the challenge Just think it would be a hell of a lot more fun with a companion.
I have a question about the required materials for each stage completion. Do I have, for example, to collect a new stack of logs and cobble to advance to gold age or I can "use" the ones I already have? Might sound stupid, but I want to be sure

It NEEDS to be inside your main wall, yes.
no pics yet as my keep is still ugly, due to the lack of stone. Will post pics after I finish the Stone Age though
