Interesting, though to be honest, I probably wouldn't want to get out of the tree. I'd continue growing and destroying them until I built a nice place in the leaves...why would a Dryad/Nymph/Awesome Druid ever need to go into hell or risk meeting lava underground?
EDIT: The only thing I can think of down there that must be had would be ... iron for shears.
Just a handful of iron for a bucket and some shears is all that you "must" have from underground, yeah. You can arguably get around not having both, but it's inconvenient not too, especially the shears. The bucket is less crucial now that fire isn't as Ragnarok as it once was. Besides that, the tree truly CAN provide everything you need! Personally though, I like digging tunnels and making roots into cave systems mostly because it's quite fun. :tongue.gif: Wooden tools also drive me bananas, so cobblestone make a welcome addition to the toolbox!

The most wonderful thing about science is that it doesn't ask for your faith, it asks for your eyes. The universe doesn't care about what you believe.
Oh. My. God. Why have I not discovered this earlier!? This challenge is simply AMAZING! I must try it out. Keep up the good work, if you can make this challenge, see if there are any other amazing ones like this.

I have given it some thought actually, but I haven't been able to think of anything remotely near as unique and clever as this. Cthulhu was the one that blazed down that trail before me, I've only helped refining it, hehe.
There is an underwater challenge inspired a bit by this one on the boards somewhere, although it's quite a bit different. I guess variations of the Cave Dwarf Challenge is somewhat similar too.
if only people make more of these
edit 1: are apples counted as living?
Err.. Apples? If you have the mod that makes apples grow in leaves, then I'd say yes. Fruit growing on your tree is part of your tree. :smile.gif: If you're thinking of something else, you'll have to elaborate, 'cause I have no idea what you mean in that case. xD

A question occured to me. Is a treehouse safe from the mobs just like a house made from any other blocks if the bed is just placed accordingly? If this is true, then I got a fascinating idea for the future. =D
Yes. It is. Did this in several different SSP worlds :tongue.gif:
